Hi All,
I've been into the dealer last week and had them perform the mode 6 "misfire neutral profile" on my truck as well they also had another truck that they performed the same. They indicated that they saw a misfire on cylinder 4 and once they ran "misfire neutral profile" it was gone. When I picked up my truck and while driving home with it I still had the misfire at 55mph with slight load going up grade and my mpg is even worse. I called the dealer and they said that the other truck is performing much better and they do not understand why it did not work on mine!!!
The dealer does not feel that this is a fix and most likely is a Band-Aid. I've been in contact with Ford customer service here in Canada and will continue to put pressure on them to get resolution. I've been informed that Ford tech is treating this as a top priority. I hopeful that they get a fix soon as I’m concerned that I may be doing some permanent damage to the drive train that will fail once I’m out of warranty.

Has anybody seen this issue all of a sudden go away?

I called the dealer this morning and told him to not pick my truck up as I was having issues replicating the shuddering, which was very easy to replicate before.

So what changed? Only thing I can think of is this weekend I put roughly 1000 miles on my truck, 900 of those miles were traveling at 70 mph. 100 miles at 60 mph.

My typical work commute is 8 miles, some at 30 mph, some at 40 mph, some at 45 mph, and about 3 miles at 55-60 mph. Almost all of my travel outside of work is around 60 mph.

Could driving the higher speeds over the weekend have possibly cleared this up for a short period of time? Engine/exhaust burning hotter cleaned things out?

Are the others having issues with the shuddering driving easy and slower speeds vs. highway?

I was able to do it just a little bit yesterday, but not on all inclines all the time like I used to. I am a little confused now, but the last thing I want to do is give them my truck and have them throw darts at it without me being able to replicate it. Guess I will just hold off a couple weeks and see if it gets worse again as I get back into my standard driving conditions.

I live in FL with a second home in NC. Driving 600 miles on interstste does not clear it up on last 3 trips. My problem is that its very noticeable in the mountians and not so bad on level ground in FL. So taking it to dealer in FL seems like it may be a waste of time. Watching these threads for a fix. My fuel economy seems to be getting worse also.

Dealer has called and wants my truck for a few days. Said they have a fix for one issue causing the miss but another issue is under investigation. That is all I was told. Had a flight recorder in vehicle and that's how they caught it. Mode 6 supposedly looked good on mine. Will keep updating as I know more.

Quick question, don't recall if this was mentioned before...

Are those of you who are getting missing/stuttering running regular fuel? Does the problem exist with the same severity if you run premium?

Happens no matter what fuel on mine. Only ran mid and premium grade since new and I can make it do it on every tank. Feels like coils slightly missing in 6th gear at 50-60 even up to 70, has to be some programming issue to only have it happen at that point and not all the time?

I dropped my truck off Friday morning to be driven by a specialist/engineer visiting the dealership.

The official writeup as printed on my service order:

"Cust states at appx 50-60 mph on slight incline vehicle shutters.
Test drove vehicle. Monitered air management inputs ans outputs. Confirmed the stated concern is related to the air management turbo wastegate and tp positioning that engineering is aware of and hopes to release a service action in future."

"Hopes to release service action in the future." Fingers crossed in hopes that my $40,000 vehicle works right soon.

Is anyone else wondering if this issue will make selling/trading-in our vehicles difficult when the time comes?

Wondering now if the 5.0 is the neutral miss fire position and the eco has the wastegate issue causing the same symptoms, anyone think its possible?
