My eco miss is due to the misfire on one bank of cylinders. Picks up on the computer every time

Update:

This appears to be a bandaid fix and here is why I feel that way. Up to now everything has been fine since the "Misfire Neutral Profile Correction" was done but this morning was different. The temp was 47 degrees and very humid with a lot of fog. The truck started to misfire at around 45mph and higher speeds. It wasn't as bad as in the past but nonetheless still very noticable. I will be bringing the truck back to the dealer next weekend and keep everyone posted.

Is anyone else wondering if this issue will make selling/trading-in our vehicles difficult when the time comes?
I believe your dealer is chasing the right thing and here is why. I am thinking it is related to the waste-gate\blow off valve on the ECO. The reason I say this when I put my Airaid CAI in, it created\intensified the "popping" noise many are saying they hear now when they put a CAI in the ECO. This "popping" noise is happening without the CAI's in but it much harder to hear it with the stock air intake. When the "popping" noise happens on my truck with the CAI in so I can hear it, my truck hesitates at the exact same time. This happens several time but most noticeable at the 55mph range on a slight incline loading the engine to maintain or increase speed but not to much so it downshifts (basically "lugging" the engine a bit). My opinion is on ECOboost engines it is not a misfire and is related to the turbo system in some form.

P.S. I did have the dealer run the mode 6 scan on my and did find a misfire on cyl 6. They did the correction but that was not the fix for mine.

Another update:

Ok, now that the fog and humidity has subsided the truck is not shuddering. Wife and I ran errands for the past several hours going up and down hills and I can't get it to do it...makes me think the coils are the culprit?

Ecomax, do you think what you described would show up on the diagnosis laptop as an engine misfire? I could clearly see on the monitor that one bank of cylinders was dropping when under load from the flight incline at 55mph.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and just picked my 11 Screw Ecoboost up two weeks ago. I've put 5000km on it since and love it.
However, I too have the shuddering problem with mine and my fuel economy has consistently gone down since my first tank of fuel even when I baby the crap out of it. It's scheduled into the dealership on the 23rd for that and a few other small items to address.
My dealership is on of the highest volume dealers in Ontario but is in a town of 3000 people so it's still got that personal side going for it. My friend is the service manager and my other friend has been a mechanic there for 25 years.... Hopefully they can see this problem through to a solution with me. They're going to pick up the truck and my shop and leave me a loaner even.... nice!

I'll keep you posted on what I find.

Cheers!

That certainly could be possible. Hopefully ford will nail this down. I would also think the custome tuners like 5-Star would see this happening when they are logging data when they are making custome tunes.

Could this miss that we are seeing under load ( boost) be caused by spark blowout because the oe coils cant handle the high compression and full boost when pulling up hills at low rpm. Usually u would see this at higher rpms with most f/I motors but the Eco seems to make its boost down low under load and then the boost tapers off at higher rpms. Just a thought
