The Ultimate MPG thread.
16.8 AVG MPG (5.0 V8) so far. Of course, it is still new so I am not driving it like I normally would.
It is so far getting 1-2MPG better than my Jeep Grand Cherokee which had the 5.7L V8 in it.

I wanted the 5.0 wasn't ready for the eco-boost yet. Just FYO, the new (2012) 5.7 will get 20+ highway at 70 mph, and 17+ city driving a little conservative all day long. You will get better, it takes quite a while to break in these new vehicles. I think especially ford, I owned MANY of them. Great trucks, pratically bullet proof.
Just got my FX4 ECO Screw 3 weeks ago so I'm not sure if my MPG's are accurate but I'm getting around 17/19mpg's city and up to 26mpg's highway.
This might change after break in period but overall I'm quite happy.
My 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Call of Duty gave me only 15.6 city and up to 20 highway.
So glad I switched to my first ever F150
I do have BAK Fibermax tonneau cover as well...

Wow I must say that's impressive up to 26 mpgs on the highway. I just bought a new 2013 STX 5.0L 2 weeks ago and had to make a long trip for work on Friday. 600 miles round trip. I check mileage by hand when I filled up on the way home and read out was 20.2 mpg on the highway. Obviously the motor is still really fresh so I expect with some break in and a tonneau cover I might gain a bit more.
Hello everyone I just completed a 1150 km run. 600km of the trip was through the provinces of nova Scotia and new Brunswick of which is quite hilly. I ended up getting roughly 15.5mpg but I was driving the truck pretty hard. When I finally hit Quebec which is fairly flat I hit 20+ mpg doing 120 kmh..
I throughly enjoy my '10 XLT with the "old" 5.4l V8!!! When towing our 25' travel trailer on the Pa. turnpike heading back west from Gettysburg, I was able to coax out 12.5 mpg!!!! That's actually pretty good when towing a 6,000# trlr. Best I've had just driving on a trip is 19.5 mpg.....and again on the Pa. pike for about 250 miles and on some improved but rural roads for about 75 miles.
This truck is a joy to tow with and to drive nearly anywhere.

Pretty much 100% soft gravel roads, lots of slow offroad driving and idling.
