The Ultimate MPG thread.
I just picked up a 2014 Tremor FX2 and have only run through 2 tanks on it. Truck had 10660 miles on it.
I drive about 95 miles a day with about 70% of it on the interstate at 70-75mph. First thing that shocked me was how much the instant mileage display was off (at least 1mpg). Anyways, kinda brutal first 2 tanks.
17.5 and 18.3 respectively. That was getting into the turbo somewhat. I actually think its running a little rich but haven't researched yet. Turns 13.8-14.3 AF in normal driving (switches back between the 2 fairly quickly) and there is some black soot on the tailpipe but then again, not looked into yet.
I am running Shell top tier gas in the current tank and it seems to be doing a little better.
Gonna have the dealer take a look at it for something else (weird *** moan/groan coming from passenger side engine bay and my auto dim mirror is dark as hell to the point of barely being able to see out of it in low light) so I will see if there is any issue with that.

Leveled With 285x65R18 Trail Grapplers
Highest I've gotten is 15.9 Hwy at around 70 MPH and generally see high 13 to low 14 in the city. (Depending on how heavy my foot is that day)

The old 1989 was a 300 straight six (city driving 13 mpg)
The 1998 was a 4.2L V6 (city driving 13.5mpg
The 2011 was a 3.5 EB (city driving 14 mpg)
My new 2015 is a 3.5 EB
My new truck is currently showing mpg of 15.5 in the city after 1300 miles. And it has not been outside of the city to date.
This is the best mileage I have ever had for in-city driving. I don't expect anything better. Full sized pick-up, loaded to 7500 pounds rolling weight. Let's be realistic here.
Here's mine:

15.3 running average in winter is pretty good. It's equal to what my 2006 Silverado 1500 with 5.3 V8 used to get, and it's far ahead of what my Ram 1500s would get.
I expect that on summer fuel I should average 16.5 during the warm months...but time will tell!

Well, I just picked up my new wheels - details in my signature line. This vehicle replaces my former 2013 F150, 4X2, 3.5L Eco-Boost, 3:15 rear axle.
Living in Florida during the winter, and spending summers in the high desert of Arizona presents differing challenges for an all-around vehicle. While I really loved my old 2013, not having four-wheel drive plus the 3:15 rear axle was a bit limiting. In Arizona, we frequently need 4-wheel drive, especially when we tow our 2 ATV's out to the boonies for a workout. Plus we're eye-balling a trailer of sorts down the road, so we really needed to upgrade. Although there was not a thing wrong with our older one -- it had just over 36,000 miles on it when we traded it in, and still in mint condition.
Well, the new one has essentially everything a man could ever want on his pickem-up truck. Having the FX4 Off Road package really solves a lot of problems for us in the off-road world, and now with the 3:55 rear axle, we have a much greater range of towing possibilities.
The new one is MPG rated at 17 City/23 Highway, but since I am only half way through my 2nd tankful, it might be a while before I can report some meaningful mileage info.
My older 2013 was rated at 16/22, and around town we regularly saw about 19.5 +/-, and on the road 22+. Don't think the new one will come in that high, what with the different rear end, but we'll see. In any case, it's probably the nicest vehicle I've ever owned, what with all the options and such, and it is solid and smooth, with plenty of power. I've been a Ford guy most of my life (as was my Dad), and recently decided the F150 was the vehicle for me.
Will post more about my MPG experience after a few more tankfuls and a couple of road trips.
