The Ultimate MPG thread.
Immediately after I did the last fill up which showed 22.3 mpg, I drove about 54 miles with about 90% hwy and I am showing this - 26.4 mpg. Based on my previous experiences it's about 1 mpg off with hand calculated numbers. So technically hand calculated could be about 25 mpg. It's just fascinating that a truck could return such numbers. I think it's the v6 and the 10 speed combo that is doing the trick.
I see pretty much the same thing with mine. I have my LOM calibrated to 20 MPG, so anything above or below is a bit pessimistic. If it reads 22.0-.1 it will be 22.2+. My last fill was 22.6. Love these new Gen 2 engines.
Just ran a tank of E85 for my usual commute. Typical mileage this time of year is 16.5-17 or so. 13.8mpg on the alcohol, $2.099 = 15.2 cents/mile
17mpg on e10 @ $2.599 = 15.3cents/mile
16.5mpg on e30 @ $2.299 = 13.9cents/mile. <-- this is what I usually run.

2019 STX stock....only a few weeks old. Mostly conservative driving to the office, but about 40-50% highway miles to my son's soccer games.
I"m getting right at 17 mpg and am a little angry about that...I expected much better with the 2.5L v6 twin turbo

@horax Your mileage will get better once the engine is broken in. Some say 5000 miles but I found after 15,000 and the second synthetic oil change was the turning point for my 2.7L . I miss the mileage of the 2.7L but really appreciate the extra torque of the 3.5L. Just turned 12,000 miles on it but haven't done a precise checked it for mileage yet. My trip 1 hasn't been reset since I got the truck and it reads 20.2 mpg.
MPG is all about the right foot in the Ecoboost. It is Eco, OR Boost, not both. High speed kills it, stop and go kills it. 62 MPH is the sweet spot in mine. I can get 17 MPG in mine all day if I drive like some people do, but I drive moderately, no flooring it from a dead stop, but I don't old people it either, just moderate, get it through the gears quickly acceleration, then set the cruise and let the truck do the driving. 22 MPG.
@horax On my daily driver, during my working days (2008 Focus) and my Harley I found that synthetic gave me a 10% increase in mileage. I believe and will continue to believe that going full synthetic helps me. That said Physics is physics and Mass and acceleration hurt. My first 2018 SCAB weighed 5400lbs. Don't know what this 2018 SCREW tips the scales at but with the 3.5L the challenge to get above 25 mpg just isn't there anymore. I still drive the same though.
Went to the quarry scale and the SCREW weighs but the same, 5400lbs. I will assume that's correct, same wheel base.
Advances in oil formulas has probably taken some of the advantages away from full synthetic oils.
