Mine is not mounted. It is a small pistol laying in the compartment at the front of the console with the lid that slides open.

-- since I use strong magnets.. Imagine where you would bolt a neodymium magnet and you'll get the 'picture' . FWIW- I don't share photos of anything that I don't want propagated on the WWW without consent. Phones these days, track location, EVEN IF you turn that feature off. Alexa? and Siri? ya' think they are not listening? Have a fine day. Posto

Anyone that "forgets" about their weapon does not deserve to carry one. I will never forget about my weapon. I do not leave my door open when fueling, not specifically because of my gun there, but I don't want my door slamming into the pump and getting damaged. If I get out of my truck and walk away from it, the gun is removed and holstered on my self. What is the point in carrying it if I am just going to leave it in the truck? If I am going somewhere that I cannot take the gun in with me, I leave it at home. And yes, all of these things come to mind all the time. I am very aware and conscious of my weapon at all times. I appreciate your concern, and can see where you are coming from, but I am not that guy. Is it possible someone can or has seen my gun when the door has been opened? I'm sure they have, but I never leave it alone. I have a kid, and am very aware and concerned with something happening. Gun safety is utmost priority in my household.

Default Mounting a Phantom Quickdraw location

Checking to see if anyone here has mounted one of these in their truck? I am trying to find the best location to do so without running into anything important. Any suggestions? I am right handed so I would prefer it to be by my right leg, I just dont know whats behind everything or if it would be strong enough. Thanks for any help.

Nope. I talked my neighbor out of using one like it. You would need to secure the gun every time you got out. Otherwise, someone would just break the window and steal the easily spotted gun. Also, bad spot if pulled over, unless its far enough down not to be spotted from the passenger side. We formed a holster out of kydex that mounted to the inside of his consule

I have a console vault so I would only have it in the device while I was driving. I also like my truck so I would never give someone a reason to break it. I have a license to carry so I am not worried about an officer seeing it as I would have both my drivers and carry license out and ready with my hands on the steering wheel. I live in a free state so these are my least concerns. I am more curious about the best location to mount it where it would be sturdy and not have any electrical or something in the way.

I would advise not putting it anywhere on the dash. In the event of a crash (especially of the rapid-deceleration variety), you'll get to sport a nice tib/fib fracture or worse. We worked a wreck years ago where the driver's leg was nearly amputated at the knee by a CB radio he had mounted to the dash.

Can someone let me know if I can just pull the dash under the steering wheel off/down or do I have to remove anything first?
