Console vault looks like a great product and have been looking at that for some time. My only concern with that is access to the firearm. Great for locking valuables and such but if you're in a pinch I wouldn't want to be fumbling for my firearm and have to lift up my middle seat and all that.

It's not meant for "quick access" -- it's meant for securing something against petty and quick theft.

If you need something for quick access I can suggest a whole lot of different kinds of holsters.

Mounted inside my console using Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster and quick disconnect. Carried over from my Tacoma, the larger console of the F-150 means I can upgrade from my Glock 43 to my Glock 17 when the holster arrives.

Default Handgun Mount

I've seen some nifty magnets that will hold onto a handgun for easy access. Anyone have any experience with this?

Maybe he should just encase them in concrete, just for good measure.

I can see this thread is going to spark some responses!

Please consider a quick-access safe in your console. It is your duty to ensure your handgun is secure and safe from accidental usage.

Magnetic holsters are anything but secure and safe. Do you really want a handgun to be anything but secured? Before you tell me they are, explain to me how they behave in an accident versus a standard holster.

If you really want quick access, then a steering column mount (straps to the trim under the column) works very well. Another option is a standard holster screwed into your favorite trim panel.
