just confirmed that I enter the code the press the 5/6 button and the tailgate opens.
that would be why, I had the same on my 2018 Platinum, 5/6 opened the tailgate. I have the electric one from the 502A now.. Not sure why it would not work the same, but no biggie

Also, what does "behind the windhield" accomplish? Wouldn't you then need to be in the vehicle to access those buttons?
The video demo is on a Tacoma, uploaded in early 2021.
It is not a physical button, they work off a capacitive touch system by touching the exterior glass over the 'button' you want to press.
The more I look into it, this is an accessory, also demonstrated on a car. Now I need to dig deeper to see if it can be added to my car. LOL

There are comments on 2 vehicles by Ford users saying they like it and miss it when they don't have it any longer -you're becoming the minority of disliking the functionality.

Had the key pad added. Don’t leave home without it.

Nope, not confused at all.

Add in a few “lol”s and you might notice a pattern quite common among your posts.

In my defense, I never said that I didn't like the functionality. While I don't personally have a need to use it, I've always understood the functionality of the keypad. I've just never been a fan of how the keypad looks. I didn't love how that keypad looked 30 years ago. For me, it looks quite dated, all these decades later. Now, I certainly do agree with you that Ford owners have spoken loudly and clearly, and at least the ones in this particular thread are overwhelmingly in favor of it...even in spite of the dated look. I am suprised that more people didn't have a problem with the dated look of the keypad. I know several did comment that they wanted to keep the keypad, but would like to see a more updated design, but I thought that it would be far more who felt that way. It's not lost on me that when you post anything remotely critical about any vehicle that people have spent their hard earned money on, some will scream very loudly about just how great everything is. This is even more true if they only ever purchase one brand of vehicle. If this were a GM board, the response would have been similar. Not a big deal. Again, at the end of the day, it's just a keypad. I'm a "car guy", and there are features on every vehicle I've owned in my life that I would change, and it's probably the same for every house that I've owned.

Have you seen the garbage keypad they put on the new Rangers? Now that looks like something out of 1992.

I have not, but I'm only a full size pickup truck guy, so it's nothing that I ever would have paid any attention to. I will say that I'm surprised to hear that it's any different from the F-150 keypad. I assumed that they would just use the same keypad.

I'd suggest rewording your post -talking about being a full size only person just adds fuel to this thread.
I don't want to be that guy so maybe you can think of something different to say that takes the target down a couple notches.

Adds fuel, because I said full size? I can't say that I view that term as some sort of incendiary phrase. I've always understood a "full size" pickup truck to be anything a half ton or larger. Hell, I don't think I can **** anyone off any more than I already have by insulting their beloved keypad from 1985

Here’s what I don’t get. If you burn through cars every few months, why do you care so much knowing this truck will be gone before a potential change occurs? More importantly, has it occurred to you that as someone with the means to be trading that often, you may be out of touch or insensitive to what the average owner does with their truck? I’m not insulting you here. Sincere question.
