As stated above, if your truck is a daily driver and you do a lot of city driving, the PB can't be beat. Other areas of refinement across the model lines are fit and finish, nicely controlled NVH, and a quiet ride on par with the best sedans. I say, collectively, if here is any shatting to be done, it should be on Ram.
Just curious why you're comparing the 16 Valve Pushrod 5.0 you had in your Lincoln to the 32 Valve 5.0 in the newer F-150's?I get they're both a 5.0 but you're comparing a 225 horsepower and 300 lb.ft. of Torque 5.0 in your Lincoln to a 400 Horsepower and 410 lb.ft. of Torque 5.0 in the New f-150's!!

If they did it would probably take a significant amount of sales away from the 3.5 Power Boost!!

The newer 5.0's have nothing in common with the older Windsor 5.0's except both being internal combustion. The bore and stroke are different and the displacement isnt even the same either with the Windsor being 301.59 ci and the Coyote being 302.19 ci.
Windsor is cam in block, iron block, iron heads push rod.
Coyote is aluminum block, aluminum heads and twin independent variable overhead cams.

Worlds apart.

So no, the newer Coyotes dont have "such a rich history". That said it is an overall good engine and I would only shy away from an oil burner if I could help it.

Not comparing... just noting the history of the engine. You can't compare the 5.0 from 30+ years ago to today's iteration.

Thought hard about buying a F-150 powerboost to replace my 2016 3.5 eco. The 7.2 generator is a very attractive feature to me. Just couldn't get past the fact that I would be parking a lithium bomb in my garage every night. When they ban ICE and the only choice comes with a lithium battery, I guess I'll have to deal with it somehow.

Strangely, Ford prices it the same.. hybrid or gas.. so it is very likely Ford doesn't think the hybrid part of the engine is the problem.
Kind of jumping in here but a lot of the hybrid specific components already have a longer warranty than the 3/36 anyways so it's already priced into a warranty.

Much ado about nothing. ICE cars flame up far more often than EVs or hybrids. If fire concerns you, consider what 36 gallons of 87 octane will do if ignited vs. a 1.5kWh lion cell…

I sleep well with my powerboost tucked away safely in my garage.
