Your truck is also on Sync 20301, but your case does not seem as bad. You were sent OTA 1.7.1 twice in July but it failed both times. Can you set auto-updates on or is the toggle switch grayed out?

 

No, my update setting is grayed out and not able to activate it. My truck says the updates are "up to date", but it can't be trusted.

The connectivity between my truck and iPhone is sporadic at best. How many updates am I missing?

Yea if the button is grayed out, then you have no chance of it fixing itself. I'll give you more details tomorrow after tonight's debauchery.

 

Ok, so your truck is on old broken software known to break the OTA process. Getting the dealer to help will be difficult because Ford never addressed the issue with any specific recall or TSB. You need to set an appt with your dealer and tell them your truck has not recorded a successful OTA since June of 2021. They need to manually update your APIM or diagnose it as faulty and replace it with a new one. Otherwise, your truck will be stuck where it is forever.

Your truck is on Sync 20301 and has not recorded a successful OTA in 2.5 years. You only have two months of warranty to get the dealer to fix your issue before it is too late to get it covered under warranty. The dealer needs to manually update your APIM or diagnose it as faulty and replace it with a new one. Otherwise, your truck will never get an update.

 

Can you check my VIN 1FTFW1E81MFA69585 it will not let me turn on automatic updates either.
