I do have a battery charger. Does the battery need replaced while under warranty? or just charge it overnight?
Thanks for your help.

The only way to know if the battery needs to be replaced is to have the dealer perform a test on it. What I see tells me the SOC is low, but that doesn't mean the battery is bad (even though it could be).

10amp+ AGM charger is recommended, but use whatever amperage you have as it's better than nothing. Make sure you ground the cable to the truck and not the negative battery terminal. Make sure hood is fully closed and truck is locked by pressing lock button twice so it honks. Charge it overnight, reset the BMS tomorrow after you take the charger off. I would set the auto-update schedule to 5am or so to allow the truck to sit on the charger for a while. Keep trying everyday so hopefully it goes through before it expires.This is the error code now:

"errorCode":"InhibitRequiredHvNotQualifiedLvLow(20 4)""projectedLvSoc":"Insufficient12VBattery(17)""t otalLvBatteryCapacity":"47""currentLvBatteryDataQu ality":"OK""currentLvBatteryVoltage":"12""currentL vBatterySoc":"68""currentLvBatteryTemperature":"35 ""dynamicPostUpdateSocThreshold":"41""estimatedTim eToActivate":"4200""estimatedTimeIncludingRollback ":"8400""currentDrainRate":"9""capacityNeededForOt a":"21""adjustedAvailableLvBatteryCapacity":"28""p rojectedPostOtaLvCapacity":"7"

Remind me to check tomorrow after you charge it to see if those figures improve.

Edit: If you can and want, you can take it for a drive for 20-30 minutes to charge it up before you throw the charger on it. You can even try to install the update after the drive and if it fails, throw the charger on it and set it to install at 5-6 am.

Please check VIN 1FTFW1E82MKD02803.

It's a '21 F150, built in late '20, and is new to me. Other than having the selling dealer address some open recalls, I have no idea what updates have been done, or are needed.

Thanks.

Your OTA history is extensive and clean. You're on Sync 23031 which is not the latest, but the few updates you are missing are to prep the truck for future updates so you aren't missing out on anything. The updates you are missing I am sure you'll get sooner or later. Nothing to worry about, IMO.

You seem to have more info than anyone else so I figured I'd see if you're able to see any info on my VIN as well 1FTFW1E89MFA01812

I've had the truck almost 3 years and it's out of warranty and I've been thinking it's been updating itself for the entire time, but in reality I'm on version 4.0.20262 and I'm gathering that's old.

Thanks for anything you're able to see regarding the updates!

Yea, you're pretty much screwed at this point with no warranty. Your truck is stuck on old software from 2020 known to break the OTA process. The process to fix it requires an above average knowledge of module programming with FDRS and equipment that would cost over $700 assuming you have a windows laptop; if not, you would need a laptop, too.

The easiest way to fix it would be to buy an APIM that is properly configured to your vehicle and swap it out. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined and can turn basic hand tools, you can do it yourself. The cost of the APIM would be $500 including shipping and support, and you would have to send your current APIM back as a core. I do not provide the service for the APIM as fixing your issue is well beyond my scope of knowledge to fix it. If you are interested, lmk and I will put you in direct contact with the person that can help you.

Cripes that's worse news that I was expecting. So are you saying the APIM is bricked and that even bringing it to a dealer to manually update is out the question?

It's not bricked.....it works because your truck works. However, the software it has on it is corrupted and there for not properly synced with Ford's servers, so you will never get an update sent. It would be more expensive through the dealer, because you no longer have warranty. So they will charge to diagnose and replace.
