I've been wondering if I should trust mine, it's been telling me it's up to date for the past 8 months or so. It does let me select automatic updates which I've had on, but it never seems to update. Can you check please? 1FTFW1ED5MFB90326

Long read, but this should give you insight on how it works.
You've been a great help to lots of folks here. Other than running a VIN check is there any other way to know if the software is up to date? When I check via the settings in the truck it says no updates available but when I look on Fords website it almost acts like there is. My VIN is 1FTFW1E89NFA68427. TIA for all your help!

Your truck is on Sync 22095 which is past the broken software where 2021 trucks are known to get stuck in the OTA process. The last time your truck recorded a successful OTA was in August of 2022. That is a very long time without getting updates. I do not have a good reason as to why the server has not sent you anything. Ford's OTA process is very unpredictable. In your case that it does not appear as if there is anything wrong with your truck, it will be very difficult to get your dealer to help you since Ford does not pay them to update modules.

If you do not have an active OTA or a recently failed OTA, the truck will always tell you it is up to date.

Based on your OTA history, you have gotten the older updates and are missing the 6.x.x updates that came out toward the end of last year, so you aren't terribly behind. Your OTA history is showing activity as recent as December, so your truck is fine in that regard. You just have to wait for the next update to be sent to you. No way of knowing when that will be and no way of forcing an OTA to be sent to your truck.

Thanks for looking into it, I guess that is good news and bad news. I have to bring it in for the wiper recall, I will mention it and maybe I will get lucky and they will do something about it.

They are working on the truck now, what can you see at your end? I am told they are just doing updates and not a replacement of the APIN…. which doesn’t help me if the unit will not perform automatic updates.

Fighting with them as we speak.

The dealership is saying that the manual updates today will take care of the problem of no automatic updates in the future. Yes, no, maybe?

If they are able to update the APIM, that will work and replacing it is not necessary. With a client now, but I'll look to see what has been done when I get a chance.

Awesome….thanks! They’re not done yet, they’re still updating.

Update - the manual updating did not work, so they have approved a new module, to be installed over the next couple days….under warranty! 😊

Thanks for all your help with this!!

I figured that is what was going to happen if they tried to update it. That's great.
