Why are the automatic updates disabled. For some reason I can’t turn them on. The truck is connect to my home wifi network and I don’t have scheduled updates on.

For a side note the battery was replaced under warranty a couple months ago so it’s not a battery issue.

Truck is a 2021 lariat 502a 3.5EB

 

That doesnt look grayed out, so not sure why you cant enable it. I know that others who have been unable to turn it on had it grayed out and ended up needing a new APIM installed.

 

Post or PM me your VIN so I can take a peek at your truck and see if I see any red flags.

Incredible. Your truck is the second truck today I find stuck in OTA purgatory. The last recorded OTA on your truck was 22 months ago. You're on Sync 20262 which is software from 2020. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but without dealer intervention, your truck will most likely never receive an OTA. Your APIM is in a state of limbo due to some faulty updates Ford was pushing out early on to job 1 trucks from model year 2021. Make an appt with your local dealer and tell them your truck has never gotten an OTA update and hope whoever ends up with your truck knows what they are doing and can get you unstuck.

Not just your luck. I am sure the number of affected trucks is in the thousands and most people don't even know they have a problem.

Your truck is fine. You were sent 3.5.3 at the end of last month which is a very recent update. The update failed to download the files, but it'll get sent to you again eventually.

That update has failed to install for many people. I wouldn't stress it.
