Your APIM is in a state of limbo due to some faulty updates Ford was pushing out early on to job 1 trucks from model year 2021. Make an appt with your local dealer and tell them your truck has never gotten an OTA update and hope whoever ends up with your truck knows what they are doing and can get you unstuck.
has anyone paid to have this fixed at the dealership, if so what does it cost? I am out of warranty, on 20262 and would like to get it fixed.

It was covered for me under my extended warranty so it ended up being just the $100 deductible. However, originally I was quoted one hour of labor ($209) to just perform a manual update. If the update takes then your problem is (I think) solved, If not, then the price goes up.

The irony was that, if the simple solution worked I would have had to pay more. Since my APIM didn't take the update, they had to replace the APIM which was far more involved but was then covered under the warranty. I think the APIM replacement would be $600-$1000.

Yes, it is back online. Your truck is on the dreaded Sync 20301 which is the broken software from 2020 where trucks get stuck never able to get any updates. With that said, your truck got an OTA a few days to try and get out of this software, but it failed to install. There have been a few reports of vehicles in your situation actually getting unstuck with an update recently, so it is possible that Ford figured out how to fix the issue, but the fix did not work in your case. You can try and wait for it to be resent and hope for better luck next time, or if you stil lhave warranty, take it to the dealer and refer them to TSB 22-2404 to see if they can fix it for you.

My display is showing a(n old) SYNC version so I guess that's an improvement.

You're still on an old Sync version because the APIM swap only gets you out of the broken software; no it is time for the OTA process to catch you up. Don't hold your breathe.

The good news is, you got OTA 2.1.0 five days ago and 2.1.1 today. So they did successfully fix the issue.

You got 6.1.0 two weeks ago. I'm sure more will come sooner than later in your case. Nothing to worry about.

thanks
Your truck is a bit behind on updates. The update that gives you full-screen carplay/android auto was sent to you twice in February and failed both times and will continue to do so. The modem on your truck is "not authorized". I would schedule an appt with the dealer asap so they can activate your modem. Otherwise, you'll never get any updates.

If you wouldn’t mind one more, I guess I should officially get the bad news. On Ford.com it showed 20262, and since I haven’t seen any updates, I assume it’s correct, let me know what you see when you have a moment. 1FTFW1E84MFA58421

Yea, you're on the bad software 20262. You had OTA 1.7.1 sent to you last month, but it failed. Your dealer needs to fix the APIM using TSB 22-2404 or replace it with a new and correctly program it.

Hey guys.....I will be going on a cruise tomorrow and do not return until 3/31. Since I am pretty much the only one that does VIN checks here, please note that any VIN check requests after today will have to wait a bit.
