Sync 3 Memory Issue
I haven't had time to do anything that barrytone shared yet. I plan to when I get some free time.
But yesterday, I was out running errands and made a handful of quick stops. Every time I started the truck, no pop-ups. CarPlay was on immediately and my podcast picked right up. Made the drive to the shore house last night, unloaded a few things and hopped back in for a brewery visit. I got the two Ford pop-ups, but no Apple pop-up. So not sure what the gremlins are up to in my Raptor, but if they can make the annoying pop-ups go away, I'll be thrilled.

hi Barrytone… I’m a new member and can’t message you. Can you please send me those files?? I would sure appreciate the help.
[ QUOTE=barrytone;7427047]Others much smarter than me figured out the actual process and needed files a few years ago, I just figured I'd share the most recent bits with those who aren't familiar with the process, as I had compiled a new install a few days prior to seeing this thread. In a nutshell, older versions of Sync allow a reformat utility to run, which basically wipes the APIM and reinstalls Sync from scratch. Where it benefits here, is that reformat wipes out the rwdata folder that is filling up. When you do a normal Sync update, only the "app" files in the update are overwritten/updated, so that is how the reformat method is different. The files I shared with others does a few things - removes Gracenotes, downgrades to a version of Sync that can run the reformat utility, then runs the reformat utility and extracts all of the Sync files and Nav data from the USB drive to the APIM.
If you want to read into it/all about it, this thread uses the same process to allow people to go from Sync 3 to Sync 3.4 versions (since there is no officially supported upgrade path from Ford) - https://www.f150forum.com/f118/upgra...ctions-458828/
There is also a utility from a website called CyanLabs that alot of people use. It automates the exact same process with a few button clicks, so it's popular because of the ease of use. They have their own forum with very helpful admins for discussion of their tool.[/QUOTE]

Following situation:
Version of Sync: 3.4 Build 22251
Information from Interrogator utility:
<d2p1:PartitionHealth type="/fs/rwdata/" total="1.2G" available="0"/>
Update/Downgrade Soft reset etc. Nothing works.
Now, I did a Jailbreak with Forescan.
After the 3 steps it looks perfect: no errors.
In the last step I saw the A-TEAM “Mods Tools have been installed” notification pop up. Simply remove the USB and let Sync 3 reboot.
Now I want to read in the script file with the name: autoinstall.sh
#!/bin/bash
POPUP=/tmp/popup.txt
function displayMessage {
echo “${1}” >> /fs/usb0/SyncMyMod/install.log
echo “${1}” >> $POPUP
/fs/rwdata/dev/utserviceutility popup $POPUP
#echo “${1}”
}
displayMessage “Deleting /fs/fordlogs”
rm -r /fs/rwdata/fordlogs/*
displayMessage “Deleting /fs/slogs”
rm -r /fs/rwdata/slogs/*
displayMessage “Deleting /fs/dumps”
rm -r /fs/rwdata/dumps/*
displayMessage “Script complete.”
But the Sync3 didn´t recognize the USB drive.
I am sure this is my mistake, because I don´t know how must look the folder structure of the USB drive.
What I need SyncMymode? DONTINDX.MSA? I must change something in the script, that it works?
Thank you in advance.I have found the rwdata Cleaner now.
But. The cleaner make the message no mods tools.
The installation of the mods tool is working: No error.
But it seems, after rebooting of the Sync the files are not saved in /fs/rwdata/dev.
Any ideas?

@barrytone I’m going on what, 2 weeks now, the thing is working flawless. Everything is loading fast plus having the new maps is nice because it never knew where my house was before. Again, @barrytone is a he!! Of a member for his help. Mad respect.

You need to install the jailbreak daemon as well before any "mods" can be installed. I'd recommend posting on the Fmods forum for help with things related to files hosted there.
How I have written.
Jailbreak demon: No error. It seams installed, because the Installation of the mods Tools no error too. But the tool to clear the rwdata partition says, it could not find the mods tools. It seems the mods tools are not installed after the reset of the system.

I have unpluged the USB drive after the message "Mods Tools have been installed" and the system was started normally. It seems perfect.
But after the installation of the rwdata cleaner I get always the message the installation aborted. Mods Tools not found in your system.
It seems the mods tools are not installed after the reset of the system or the rwdata cleaner has a mistake in the script.
