Backspacing on the OEM Raptor wheels is 6.2" I believe.

Not disputing your measurement at all, but how did you arrive at that? Haven't had a math class since 1967.

Googled and got results from the Raptor forum.

Correct. Raptor wheels, according to ford vary from 150-156 mm depending on wheel.

comes close to 5.9 in to 6.15.

for those that remember, it’s why I rubbed on Fox 2.5 non-DSc. They have a 5.5 max backspacing with a 12.5 in wide tire. I was at 6.15 backspacing and a 12.2 in wide tire…rub a dub, lol

Those that had Bilstein 6112 installed, did you get a new set of top hats or using the old set are ok ? My 2018 truck has 36,000 miles of just pavement driving.

with that low of mileage I don’t think you’d have an issue swapping them over.

id buy them assembled which will allow you to swap easier and possibly sell the old stuff or keep them in case you need to swap them in or out

Bought mine from Shock Surplus, assembled for not much more. Made the install price way less. I’m not mechanically inclined to do it myself. I do all other mods, but suspension and brakes scare me. 🤣🤣

also, on this note. If you are hiring someone…ask what cost is to just swap two assembled shocks and then the cost of tearing down one and swapping parts.

as Kenny stated, I bet the cost difference is close to the cost of buying them assembled.

and since I’ve swapped shocks at least 10
times, 100 times easier to just swap without tearing them down

Default Bilstein 5100 adjustable

For anyone about to embark on Bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks, I thought these pics might help. There are 5 rings to choose from to adjust the front ride height, from 0" lift to 2" lift. I went for the max, didn't like it, and moved it back to the middle. Love it now. Here are the pics of the truck at 2" and 1" - the one with snow is the 1". You have to remove them to adjust them, so it's important to get it set where you want it the first time.
