The Leveling Kit Thread
Want some opinions please! I placed my Bilstein 5100 kit order with Stage 3 Motorsports on February 7th. I received the rear shocks roughly a week later. Unfortunately the Front 5100s are on backorder and I was originally told to expect delivery mid March. However, It is the first week of April and I still don't have a tracking number. In fact Bilstein told me they aren't getting a shipment in until the end of May and Stage 3 told me they are not expecting any until the end of April. I have already waited 2 months -_- but am getting anxious. My new wheel and tires are sitting in the garage waiting for the level kit to be complete. My question is... Would you guys continue to wait OR look for an alternative? I would prefer something in the same price range but if I HAD to I may spend just a tad more.
Thanks!

It's so difficult because I keep reading that the Bilsteins are a much better quality, better ride, comfort etc... How are the Ranchos in comparison?

I think many guys look at the cost of the Bilsteins, and don't consider the install cost. Let alone using a spring compressor, TBH, those things scare the crap out of me, unless it's a wallmounted professional one in a shop somewhere.
One other thing that has totally soured me on the Bilsteins, after just one northern winter, even with minimal salt exposure, the finish was ruined, and they were pitting. I try to keep my truck in show condition, so I wasn't about to use Bilstein again.
I had 5100's on my '17, first time I used shocks with that setup. I thought them to be very good, much less body roll and brake dip, rode very well. I had them on the next to lowest setting. Time came that I needed to lift higher, took them out, put my spring compressor on them, and broke my clamshell compressor. Had a pair of spacers, 1.5" so stuck them on with the 5100's. Shortly after, I got a good deal on the Ranchos, and changed them out. Noticed over small potholes and rough areas, they seemed better, they also are adjustable as far as dampening. When I traded the '17 for my '20, I stuck the Bilsteins back on it, and put the Ranchos on the '20. All the work was done by me. If I had to pay for someone to install the Bilsteins due to the disassembly/reassembly of the spring, it would have raised the total cost of the Bilsteins closer to the cost of the Ranchos. Coilovers are "very easy" to install. Quality is every bit as good, IMO, and ride is better, IMO.

I think am going to bite the bullet and get those Ranchos, the ones your talking about is it the quick lift ones all complete and ready to install?
