2017 XLT, new to me. 34k miles. I went with the Bilstein B8 6112 struts in the front. The truck already had the 5100 for the rear shocks. I set the struts to 2 inch. 275/60/20 BFG ko2. It's rides great. More stable.
I've wanted to level and mount proper wheels and tires to my 19 KR and after months of procrastinating I finally made the decision to go with the Mammoth 2.5" leveling kit. I've got 4 brand new Raptor take offs just waiting for tires, but hadn't yet made the decision on how much to lift the front end.
Yesterday I took advantage of not really being able to go anywhere and pulled the big girl in to my shop to do the job. I watched the American Trucks install video a couple times before beginning, and it provided almost all of the information required to do the job. One detail that was left out is that in order to have the "spur" on the Mammoth part face outward, you have to rotate the entire strut assembly 180 degrees. The other is that front and rear control arms are mounted to the frame in slotted holes, and it's almost impossible to get them back in their original location, so you'll need to have the truck aligned after install.
Now I need tires and I'm leaning toward BF Goodrich KA-02s. I will not be doing any real off-roading, but I would like good snow capability and I definitely don't want noisy tires. Suggestions?
I figure that with the 2.5" lift on the nose there's no reason not to go with 315/70/17s. What do you suggest?
Finally, the 315/70s are 35" tires which is substantially larger than the OE 20s. Is there a way to recalibrate the instrument cluster for the larger tire diameter?

Hey Chief,
I have a 2018 Lariat that I put the Ford Performance Fox leveling kit on. The 2” lift was enough to clear my Raptor takeoffs with 315/70/R17’s no problem and I have no rubbing in any direction. I read a million reviews on here and was really nervous the tires would rub but I was fine all around. Hopefully the pics help you out.
Ah excellent! Thank you so much! Your setup is exactly like I had planned on mine being, so other than the fact that my truck has the longer box, this is almost identical to how mine will look.
Also, I see that you’re in Colorado. My truck was purchased in, and is registered in, Colorado as my mother in law is a Denver native, and lives in downtown Denver and we spend a lot of time out there. We’ll eventually be there full time.
Thanks for the fantastic photos and the confirmation that the tires fit without issue. Did you notice a slightly more compliant ride once you ditched the lo-pro tires and went to the taller sidewall shoes?

I actually had the 18” wheels on there from the factory so I had a solid sidewall and a pretty plushy ride originally. After the suspension and wheels it definitely rides more like a truck and the little bumps are more noticeable while the larger bumps are less noticeable. I like the way it handles overall and I’m happy with the tires in the snow and rain plus I don’t notice any extra road noise. I also am glad I went with the C rated tires so they don’t feel as stiff as some of the other tires in that size with the heavier load range.

Couple of options here: buy a speedo recalibrator, a tuner that can recalibrate, or look into Forscan. This last option will be your cheapest option, plus there’s all sorts of cool stuff you can change for your vehicle.

Hi, I have a '15 Lariat with the Pro Comp #62206K kit.
I took the truck to a local garage to remove the kit from the struts. Doesn't work for what I'm going to do - towing, need good MPG, and so on. I bought the truck second hand with the kit installed.
The kit uses preload spacers. The guys at the shop, even when using a spring compressor, could not get these things out. Do these things get stuck in there pretty badly? They want me to get replacements - OEM set is only like $150 on ebay, so I could do that if I had to...
Will I need to order a set of stock preload spacers or are the original ones still in there? Thank you!
