Question for anyone who has installed a Motofab leveling kit: Has anyone installed the spacer on the strut and then threaded in the allen bolts from the top of the coil bucket rather than installing the studs into the spacers and installing the normal way? The shop I had do the install did this and it looks all kinds of wrong. Looks like there is a gap between the strut and spacer and even looks like the bolt heads might not even be touching the coil bucket because they're too long to be installed this way. I've already taken it to the installing shop, and after explaining the way they should be installed, the manager agreed to reinstall them the correct way, but I'm worried the kit might be ruined now. If they torqued the spacer down onto the strut and then threaded these allen bolts in until there was a gap between the spacer and strut, something must have broken right? He says he thinks it's fine as is but will redo it if I'm not happy with it.
That is completely wrong. Good thing you mentioned something. The instructions are clear. That is bad news if you don't get it fixed. I installed a motofab on my truck and it looked much better than that.
Just picked up a set of Bilstein leveling struts for my new to me 2018 F150. Debating on going top 2.1” setting or purchasing the Eibach lift springs to give front a 2.7” lift.
I pulled the rear blocks from my truck a while back which brought the rear down to 38 1/4" and liked the looks of it as I'm keeping my stock tires and don't like having a big space between the tire and wheel well opening.
I considered adding a small lift kit for the front but the front is 37" which is only 1 1/4" rake and I can't really justify all the money involved for such a small difference. Here in Ontario the kit would probably be at least $100, labor would more than likely be around $300 and then the cost of the alignment which is probably another $100
Looking at the truck the rake isn't very noticeable so I'm gonna just leave it alone.
I just measured mine with a full 36 gallon tank and I’m 40 rear 37.75 front. My concern is that with a basic 2 inch level it’ll eat any rake I may have making it look almost nose high. Debating whether I go small lift or a level, but to fit the wheels and tires I want it’ll take a small lift to do it anyway. I may have to do rear blocks no matter what.
I’m starting to wonder too if going Bilstein may be the ticket since I have options for leveling. I really don’t want to do a puck, but I don’t dislike the factory ride, I’m just concerned a level puck could upset the ride quality.
Looks like it’s all taken care of. Anyone know what this yellow paint is for? Seems like it would only be to mark the positioning on the nut and stud and I wonder why they felt the need to do so.

Maybe to show if it’s tampered with after leaving their shop
How do you feel about the Toyo RT ride? That's what I am running and they're a little louder than I had hoped.
They aren’t the quietest, but I came from the M/T so it’s not awful. I don’t mind tire noise really. They are a lot heavier than my stocks so I witnessed about a 2 or 3 MPG loss when I was only expecting like 1. It tends to stay in the boost a lot longer now.
