Do you think 285/65/r20 KO2s would fit on a 2015 2wd with a 2" level in the front (Bilstein).with stock wheels? I'm having a hard time finding examples of 2wd with the Bilstein (or any 2" level) and that size tire...
2WD I'm not totally sure about because honestly I don't know what the stock suspension is like on those. I have Bilsteins on all 4 corners with the fronts at 2.1". The 285/65's are 1/2" taller and wider than the 275/65's.
There is definitely more than 1/2" at full lock to accommodate the 285/65's, but I'm also 4WD FX4. There's more photos and information in my build thread under this post. Some tire stores like Discount Tire are more than willing to do a front wheel first and make sure they will clear before doing all 4 tires. They did this with me and actually let me go look and make sure I was happy before having them do the other 3 tires. If I had to make an "educated guess" I would think they would clear on a 2WD with the Bilstein's. I'm very happy with the 275/65's. Saved $300 and about 30 pounds.
I chose the same path, we are now brothers in arms.
I am going to keep fighting. She thought selling my OE tires to my brother, would pay for the new set I wanted, and I was merely saying it would help to lower the out-of-pocket expense, so we weren't talking the same numbers. Not the first time thats happened..
They are a great tire as long as you don’t need serious snow or ice traction. And I’m not talking casual winter use. Serious winter driving on steep grades can be scary with them, they aren’t soft enough or super enough for winter use.
I have a 19 XLT SCrew, FX4 5.0 with Fuel Vapor Tinted 20x9 +1 offset with 275/60-20, standard, not E rated. I've noticed issues with my Ridge Grapplers they tend to get loose when taking off from a stop or getting in the gas when making a turn. I've predominantly had Chevy's with the rear lowered to level and high performance street truck tires do I'm sure they are a softer compound. Didn't know if the loss of traction is just the nature of the tire or the lack of heft in the rear from the aluminum body? We haven't had much rain here in Ga so hasn't been a big deal. Didn't know if anyone else experienced this with the Ridge Grapplers? Was between thee and the Wildpeak AT3's and the guy at discount tire said the Wildpeak's were awful in the rain.

excluding off-roading, softer tread typically equates to better traction, also = less mileage you get from the tire. It does not matter radial, AT, or MT you can find both hard and soft tread among them all. Typically I go for soft tread where traction is important to me and I don't care about the mileage loss, high speed cornering a motorcycle virtually horizontal, i definitely want soft tread. Same thing cornering cars at higher speeds.... Tread and shape of road contacting surface of tire have a lot to do with it as well, but rubber density does vary within most tire types
I am not sure about the Nitto's (yet anyway) my first set has yet to arrive. I went with the terra though even though I preferred the look of the ridge, i didn't want all the MT road noise on the highway (although most reviews on this tire specifically call out how quiet it is.) If i did less highway and more off-road, definitely would have gone ridge instead. without having experience with Nitto at all, I didn't want to make a 1200$ regret I could not swap out.
I am thinking rubber density should be a metric in tire specifications, you cannot tell which is a soft tread and which is not looking at tire specs...
I hope to not have road traction issues with the terra, but will post either way.....

Thank you for the info and pictures. Did you change out your rear blocks or keep the OEM blocks to add a little lift in the rear?
Stock blocks at the moment. I might go with a little bit taller block down the road, but not by much.
Thank you! Do you go offroading? I'm wondering how much difference the Bilsteins would make for everyday driving to/from work with the occasional road trip. Mainly hwy usage.

I dont do hardcore off roading, but I do work in construction so it does get off the pavement. Honestly, after putting the Bilsteins on the truck rides so much smoother now. Especially in the rear end. The rear axle hop is gone. I was working yesterday and one of my electricians was asking me about the bilsteins as well. Threw him the keys and told him to take a ride. He came back and said it's like riding in a Lincoln compared to the stock struts and he was ordering then for his truck when he got home.
