See post 1075...

anyhow I spoke with 4wheelparts and they said diff drop kits are common on other brands such as Toyota as their cv shafts don’t handle the lift over 2”. Fords cv shafts can handle up to 3” lift. That’s why you only see the diff drops kit with a 4” or higher lift kit.

ya makes it tempting to go 6” instead of 4”. Tires that fit it and look proportional would be more expensive I think.

Just my opinion, but I think a 4" lift looks better than a 6" lift. Yes they're the same price, but it's more practical and looks awesome with 35's! I think a 6" lift with 35's leave too much of a wheel gap.

It says the 6" will clear 37" tires.

It will, just depends on the offset of the wheels. Don't forget you'll probably need to re-gear if you go 37's too. If you don't, you'll be really down on power and the transmission will be fighting to hold a high gear on the highway.

Are 37s that much more than 35s? Had 35s on my 2.7 and 3.5 stock and ran fine...just askin

I guess it all depends on your current gear ratio too. I'm running 35's with 3.31's and it's ok. I'm about to hit 40k miles and I've had the 35's since 6k miles so I'm used to it now. I definitely wouldn't put 37's on my truck without re-gearing.
