I basically don't want to have to unlock my entire truck every time I want to drop the tailgate, I'd rather deal with using a key to lock it separately whenever I have the need for that.

On a side note, I do not have my truck yet, (and won't for a few more months), but did go and test drive a couple today. (Until now I basically was set on getting one from looks only) Drove a 5.0 and a 2.7EB, they didn't have any 3.5s on the lot. All I can say is WOW to these trucks! I'm pretty much sold on the EB, nothing against the V8, but that turbo felt nice! Can't wait to try out a 3.5. Anyway this forum has been great for preparing me to blow endless amounts of cash when I get my new baby lol
Yep, you are preaching to choir for sure, I got bit by the same bug and have had no regrets!!

Don't know the answer to you question exactly other than you can use the keypad to unlock you doors and your tailgate (I believe). Enjoy your new baby when she get's here!

If I leave the key fob in the truck, anyone can walk up and open the doors and drive away. I don't get it... why would you ever leave a fob in the truck?

You can lock the doors with the key fob there. You would use the keypad on the outside to get in.

I don't do this but some do that don't want to take their keys with them for whatever reason.

Yeah I just see myself leaving the tailgate unlocked more than locking it. I wont be storing a lot of important stuff all the time. So I know it will be frustrating when I do go to lower it, if the truck is locked I'll have to grab my keys or walk to the door. I'd rather just use a key and do it manually if I ever need to lock it. If anyone comes across a thread or some lock sequence it would be much appreciated.

Quick subject change. Was that your KR with the cut off pipe? I do like that clean look. Might do that until I figure out some other exhaust setup. Did you weld that downward pipe? Or did you just slide it on there?

Saw sport mode on the shifter and asked the salesman about it, never saw a more puzzled look on someone in my life lol. I told him I'd read about it on the forum and he was like "I'll have to read up on that". Gotta love salespeople who don't know their products

Not sure about your neck of the woods but there have been a rash of tailgate thefts from unlocked trucks, apparently you can get $1000.00 for a warm gate. The replacement cost to the owner is around 1500.00 or so.

I was told you can slow them down by putting a screw strap type hose clamp around the hinge pin.

Either gonna do the hose clamp trick or look into a tailgate lock (the kind to keep the tailgate on, not closed) to prevent this
