Or the trucks were built before March ** 2015 when the seat icons were dropped..

Hmmm. Not sure what you're referring to. Definitely not on the steering wheel. Not on the left lower dash. Not on the driver side door panel. Scrolled thru the DIC menu again for the umpteenth time and didn't see it. What am I not understanding?

I don't even want to share the number of times I've hopped out of the truck, left the engine running to run around the back of the truck to get something out of the bed only to find...F#@%!!! The tailgate is locked!!!

Welp, thank gawd. I can officially say I'm not getting senile and can't RTFM. I gave up and called the dealer to ask them how to disable the auto-lock feature. Salesman walked over to an XL with the 101A pkg, scrolled thru the menu on the DIC, and read off the steps to find the option on the screen....except when he got to the screen where I was supposed to be able to de-select that option. NOT on my screen. Vehicle on the lot had 3 lines lines of text: Auto-lock, Auto-unlock, and Remote Unlock. Strangely enough, mine only has the last two options. Guess I'm gonna have go see the service tech to have the BCM reflashed and start over? Any body ever experience this?

Is there a hidden button press option to turn off the 8" screen instead of hunting thru the settings? That would be awesome. Perhaps a double tap of some button.....please.

Are you talking about the center NAV screen?

If so, I am interested in this also. My ‘09 had a hard button under the display labeled “DISP” - when you hit that button it would turn off the screen but keep the bottom border lit with basic info, next press was totally off, then one more press to turn it back on.

I rarely drive at night anymore but when I do that center screen needs to be off.

There is button under display settings ti turn it off. I think it came about with the Sync 3.0 update.

I just looked in the manual - there is a voice command for “display” and should be able to dim the screen that way - will have to try it to tonight.

I never use the voice commands for anything so I didn’t even think of that.

Then plug it into the sync, stow it in the storage box on the console and forget about it. Now I have streaming music, wifi hotspot, always on gps to locate my truck, turn by turn directions, Siri. What's not to like? I checked online and it looks like you can take an iPad data sim and use it in an iPhone. 10 bucks a month on my plan. If it works I'll have a poor mans sync three. I'll let you all know.
did it work? I’m curious to know.
