It was a job just summarizing as it is now and my intent was to put them all in one place so one could easily see the tips, etc without all of the extra comments.

Smile led headlights

I've been running led headlights for several months now as the standard headlights on my 2005 crewcab are sub par for people who don't see well at night. the transformation is amazing. these are white lights and vision is better than anything I have ever seen. signs light up twice as far away. these run hot enough to have cooling fans built in. if they hold up this is the way to go.I will never go back to standard. p.s. you never have to use high beams!

It's a fact that xenon's are very pricey and overpriced too.

But also look at how much truck & gizmo's(like tailgates, seats, etc., with stuff/glitter many of us don't desire all over them & logo's of ranchero's & such) that I am forced to buy (beyond a loaded XLT I ordered) to get a Ford w/LED HL's! the discussion ,r.e. LED HL's is forced by Forad to be way beyond the "which HL topic"!!!
Fact:
LED's will not replace any other HL type until they are made available in a way that does not require buying a truck or car that cost over $50-60k.
the aftermarket will take care of the situation soon.I have been running led headlights in my 20005 f150 and can truly say that they are the wave of the future in lighting and are reasonably priced. will not go back to not seeing well at night!

Default Tailgate Assist and Stubby Antennae

Hi. Longtime member . . . 2nd-time post! Hints, Tips, and Tricks thread was a gr8 read.

Tailgate Assist:

1. Tailgate slammed down once and missed my 3 yo by inches. Searched, found, and purchased this: Dee Zee Tailgate Assist-Tailgate Assist. Installs in 10-15 minutes and has worked perfectly since 2016.

Stubby Antennae:

2. Tired of antennae hitting all of the parking garage clearance bars, car wash beater bars, and other situations. Searched, found, and purchased this: AntennaX The Shorty (5-inch) Antenna for Ford F150. Installs in 5 to 10 minutes and has worked perfectly since 2016. I have traveled all along both the Eastern seaboard of the US and Canada without ever losing reception in town and rural areas.

So, I have a question, and Im expecting to get eaten alive for this.....and I have read countless hours on this thread, but.....whats the best recommendation for a device to use with Forscan? The market is flooded with different options, and I figure this would be a good place to ask, being many folks have used different devices. This would be on a 16 F150 XLT with the larger radio screen. Thanks

Either get a wired ELM327 OBDII with a switch for MS/HS or get a OBDLink MX Bluetooth
