Hints, Tips and Tricks
Best way to get better mileage is to just slow down,
According to studies backed by the department of energy, the average car will be at its advertised MPG at 55 mph. But as the speed increases:
- 3% less efficient at 60 mph
- 8% less efficient at 65 mph
- 17% less efficient at 70 mph
- 23% less efficient at 75 mph
- 28% less efficient at 80 mph
But who can drive at 55? You'd get run over. I used to get the best mileage in my 2016 3.5 Ecoboost when we lived in the Okanagan where speeds in the valley were 80km/h (50mph). I regularly saw 9.5l/100km (24.5mpg), but now that we're back in Alberta with a 110km/h speed limit I average 12.7l/100km (18.5mpg)

I’ve never calculated actual mileage, but the DTE always reads around 550 miles and always seems about right.
One of the best tips I've read.
It may have already been discussed on this thread, but if you walk up to the locked truck with the fob in your pocket, when you grab the handle, it unlocks. Pretty straight forward. BUT you can also get out and lock the truck with the fob in your pocket by touching the black button only on the door handle. Of course the key pad is right there too. Also, the handle unlock and black button lock only works if the fob is outside the truck.
Happy accident find. I'm not a fan of the small power button on the climate control to turn the fan on when needed. But had turned it off being my black truck was warmed up and the sun was doing its job in the mile high city. Leaving a store and jumping in while the temps were dropping fast (happens quickly sometime in the mile high city) instead of reaching for the power button to turn the fan back on, I accidently just turned the fan ****, and it powered up, even though I had used the power button to shut it down prior to getting to the store. No need to take your eyes off the road to search for that little power button when a quick glance at the big **** is easier to reach.
