There are a couple of things you need to consider.
The “remote on” signal from that connector is only 6v so you’ll need to know if your amp is capable of recognizing the low voltage. Some do, some don’t. Otherwise you’ll be adding a relay back there as well.
The factory plug is protected by a 15 amp(?) fuse which generally limits you to 200w of peak power. Your amp will have a fuse or two built into it. If it’s lager than that it will probably be using too many amps for the factory wiring. It won’t “burn” anything, but will blow the factory fuse. Of course if you try and put a larger fuse in then it WILL burn wires.
You will need Forscan or someone with a scan tool capable of “turning the connector on” as it is not active from the factory if your truck didn’t come with a sub.
And finally, some of us have had to tap into the read speakers for sound, myself included.

Will it burn out the wires? Or it will be fine but I should keep an eye on it? I just want to use the stock plug and not have to run anything to battery or tap into any wires from the speakers, and set up the amp/sub without having to worry it’s going to burn up or something on me. Any advice on what I’m trying to do will greatly be appreciated!
I ran mine off the factory wiring and a 30 amp fuse for 2 years.
Popped the fuse a couple times when pounding, but otherwise seemed fine. I wouldn’t do that is you are someone that wants hours of high wattage bass as loud as it will go non-stop though.
Got this installed and working fine. Sounds way better then no sub in this super cab so far.
I just bought the VKL3Z-18808-A. Ford sub, their is a ground wire in the harness near The amp at the rear seat. The instructions do not say where it gets screwed down to? Anyone know where it goes or have any pictures?
I just bought a 2017 Lariat and found our a few weeks like there is no factory sub installed. Someone cut the wire and removed it. I guess it was the previous owner. Anyone have a factory sub you don't use, FL3T-19A067-AC? I could also use the factory connectors. I have the amp just no subwoofer.
