I've had this sub in and out for almost 2 years and I'm finally happy with the way it operates and sounds. I used the factory connector for power and signal and grabbed the 12v for the remote wire from the power inverter. the remote wire in the factory sub plug is 6.5V and could not supply 120ma of current. I used a small single strand wire to push in beside the pin then added some tessa tape to keep the wire from backing out. I also used 1/4 tech flex to hide the green wire and ran it under the carpet.
12v to enable power inverter factory plug. the retainer is in the wrong spot here wire ran under carpet and out to sub remote wire harness with Tessa tape and techflex
I have the Rockford P-300 10" powered subwoofer. Mine works on either low or high input selection but was noticeably louder when switched to low input. I have the Forscan settings for Aux speaker instead of sub because the amp has its own crossover and I believe that when the ACM is set for sub it also pulls some lows from the front and rear speakers. For me this left a noticeable issue with the sound quality. Once I switched to aux speaker instead of sub the lows returned to the other speakers and the sub hit better as well. I also left the second Forscan setting alone. I tried the 7 speaker Crew w/kicker selection but found there was a boost to the highs and mids but a decrease in bass level even to the sub. I believe the output with my current selections (aux speaker, and as built) is a low level but I have heard others say that if you use a different speaker configuration setting ( ie 7 speaker Crew w/kicker) it may change from low to high or vice versa. It would be good if someone tested to confirm which settings yield what type of output for factual info. I can only share what is working wonderfully for me. The music is loud and crisp and the bass rattles the mirrors.
How'd you power your sub? I have the p-300 10t and I'm not sure to use the wpt 1212 plug or just the traditional route.
I have a question and was going to buy the Memphis 10” underseat sub/amp combo. It’s 400w peak, and 200w continuous RMS. I’ll be connecting with the WPT-1212 through the factory harness through the pillar on the rear driver side. Will the plug back there be okay with the amp pushing 200w RMS? Will it burn out the wires? Or it will be fine but I should keep an eye on it? I just want to use the stock plug and not have to run anything to battery or tap into any wires from the speakers, and set up the amp/sub without having to worry it’s going to burn up or something on me. Any advice on what I’m trying to do will greatly be appreciated!
