Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
I've been visiting this thread for awhile now, doing my research and I finally ordered my USB hub (HC3Z-19A387-B) online yesterday from EastGateFordPartsCanada.ca and it just arrived at my door, it was a speedy delivery (would make Mr. McFeely proud) I'm in the process updating my sync3 software.
Update: everything works fantastically!! thanks to everyone in this thread!

Stumbled upon this site while looking for Apple Carplay info.
Just picked up a new 2016 Edge, Sync version 2.0 and Carplay does not come up for me.
This hub looks like it will fit in the Edge, looking to confirm. Also how did you easily remove the existing hub?
Thanks!

I've got a 2016 XLT Sport [Purchased in March of 2016].. Sync has Version 1.0 and my dealer has replaced USB hub with (HC3Z-19A387-B) -- Unfortunately, Sync 3 will not update to 2.0 or 2.2 -- They've requested information from FORD.. Anyone have any ideas?
That appears to be correct. When I looked at total size of data after installing the nav version and there was a difference. It was a while ago and I don't remember the difference in the data size.
Best suggestion, go back to the original, unzipped file and start over again. Reformat the thumbdrive and then unzip it to the USB. Have him reinstall the clean files and see if that clears ups his issues.
Also, does his system actually say Version 2.2?

Today he was driving to work and his radio suddenly started to work again. It shows he has version 2.2. I have done some reading up on the issue and it seems like a common problem.
I have sync 3 v2.0 and I cannot seem to find a way to raise the volume of the navigation voice. Am I missing something or is this not possible? Seems like something very simple to do but for the life of me, I cannot find it in the settings.
Turn the volume **** while on a call.
Do you have the CarPlay enabled USB hub installed? It is not hard with the USB drive. Actually pretty easy.
