I don't have an Apple phone. Do I still need the Carplay enabled hub to get the update? I'll give Ford another week or so then I'll download 2.2 and install it.

If you don't have an iPhone and plan on using CarPlay you don't need the revised USB hub.

Anyone else noticing their system hanging/freezing for a few seconds when the screen background switches between daytime & night brightness settings? Since applying the update my system freezes for a second or two every time it changes between day/night brightness settings. I have factory navigation in my sync 3 unit if that matters.

Nope, you don't need the new hub. USB will function like it does now.

Just did the update tonight from V1 to V2.2, Used the HC3Z-19A387-B usb hub which has the blue lights not the white. Pretty cool but don't know how much ill use it as I don't plug my phone in much when I'm in the truck. Maybe ill have to get another cable to keep in the truck and start plugging it in right after I disable my auto start stop lol, get into a routine. Any way I searched for hours trying to find a good link to download the update from, here is the site I got the link from (mine has NAVI).

Thought id also mention I was able to download and extract on my macbook, seen where some people were having trouble with the other links and having to do the download on a PC

Did you install the USB hub first, then update or did you update on OEM USB hub, then replace the USB?

I have a 16' XLT and I replaced the USB hub first, downloaded update via Mac and it won't update. As soon as I plug it in, it sees the device, then states one or all of the files is bad, and fails. I am going to attempt this update via extracted file from PC.
