Yippee...Google Maps worked while driving...W/O sound though but sure is nice to be able to use it instead of___X___!

I also plugged in the factory USB to iPhone for charging while using the HDMI at the same time.

Gonna experiment some other things today with this new toy.

Still no fix for Sync 3 v2.2 compatibility but I know they are working on it. Thanks to those who are patiently waiting for the resolution and know that we are bugging Rostra for the firmware on a daily basis. As soon as we have it I will post a message here but as always our customers are always welcome to give us a call for a status update.

Chris,
Slightly related question for you in this thread. Does Camera-source still sell the Costal Tech lockpick for the 2015 F150? I know the "air" version is discontinued, asking about the regular version.

If I use the steering wheel button command for navigation directions with Google maps already working on screen via HDMI, I get turn by turn voice directions but not googles voice. I get a two-tone alert of a turn almost at the same time the Sync3/Apple maps is telling me to turn.

I don't know if it's Sync3 maps telling me or Apple maps, but it works.

Trisch from Camera Source said I should be able to get voice from google via Blue Tooth. I had BT on. I will do another test with it not hooked up to USB & HDMI at the same time.

Also, I checked my iPhone google map settings. It has a setting called [Play as Bluetooth Phone Call] Not sure what it means or how it works, should I have it on? If yes will it eat data at a faster rate?

Do I have the correct settings?

Have you tried pressing the voice button on your steering wheel (looks like a dude talking) and saying 'bluetooth audio'? That's what I have to do to get audio from my android to play over the truck's speakers. I haven't tested the HDMI mirroring feature yet, so I'm just talking in general.

That's the button I used to give commands for the same navigation route as I had programmed in the google maps app...I'll try what you use for the audio...

I actually don't mind being able to have voice from whatever & google on the screen, never hurts to have two opinions-->

Coastal has discontinued distributing through dealers and they are the only ones selling them now, with exception to those that have leftovers.

That being said we have one MyTouch Lockpick left on the shelf and it's on hold for a customer. If you're interested send us an email using the 'contact us' link on our website and we can let you know if the customer changes his mind.

Thanks,

If I was you I would install an aftermarket rearview mirror with a built in video screen. I would then install a front camera with the power controlled with a simple dash switch.

That was in my list of options. However, 3 autoglass outfits and 2 dealers refused to try to remove my rearview mirror, all said it was likely the windshield would crack in the process. Service manual shows using a tool resembling a vice-grip, which goes for $400. I've seen a dozen or more youtube videos showing how easy it is with a screwdriver or pry tool. Google search comes up with mixed results of people having success or breaking the windshield. Besides, it would be nice to have the front cam show on the 8" display.

Lockpick would have been nice but is being crossed off the list because I can't get confirmation whether some of the features function correct, and Coastal's tech support won't answer my questions.

We have the Rostra update for those running Sync 3 v2.2. Please contact us so we can email it to you. This update is if you are running Sync 3 v2.2 only. If you are running any other version, i.e. 1.0 or 2.0 this is not your update. We will have an update for 2.0 soon according to Rostra. I will also have an update for the ones that are running into a frozen screen on occasion... Rostra was able to reproduce this issue and will incorporate it into a patch.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you receive an update from us please do not post it on this forum. Though it may initially make our lives easier, it could turn someone's interface into a $600 paperweight if they flash it to a device that is not supported. Please get all firmware updates from us to ensure you are flashing the correct version etc.

Thanks for your patience while the new firmware was being developed!
