2016 Tracking Thread
So I pulled the trigger today at my local dealer after haggling prices since last week.
Details are in my updated sig.
My sales guy thinks it will arrive in two months, by the end of the year, but I think he's nuts; I don't expect to see it until February, based on the Donlen 14-16 week leadtime numbers.

I also got a good trade-in deal on my existing 12 year old truck, so that simplifies things when the new one arrives, just swap the plate over, etc.
In a week or so, I'll see if I can get the order number from them and track it with COTUS...

Just spoke with my dealer today. They told me they have 4 2016's already sitting on the lot. My salesman told me he thought they showed up yesterday. Crossing my fingers that mine shows up in the next day or two. Cannot wait.
Wizerd, how did you work your trade deal? When I have done that in the past with an order, the dealer has always found a way to try to reduce the trade price due to the month or two passing since the quoted price... and since I am ordering a vehicle at below invoice, they can just as easily sell it for more profit off the lot if I walk...
Then I brought up possibly using my 2004 Ranger as a trade in.
They gave me what I thought was a good price for it, given certain "issues" with it they may or may not have noted...

Now, that being said, I haven't picked up my truck yet, so I cannot say they "DID" stand by it, but I don't think they are going to blow up the deal over something stupid like not keeping their word to me on the trade in. I'll know how this plays out in the next couple days when my truck, hopefully, shows up.
I did speak with another dealer about it before this one and they were not willing to make any sort of guarantee on the trade-in price, until my truck actually arrived. So I'd say it will vary on a dealer by dealer basis.
... and most good sales managers know that the revenue center for the dealer is not as much in sales these days as it is in service. They want you to buy your car from them, but even more they want you to service with them as that's where the real $$$ is. So it would be a bit silly for them to dink around with you like that. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it would be fairly silly for them to do it, unless you wanted something ridiculous for your trade-in that just made no sense.

They allow you to get up to 3 when requesting them. Get them for 3 different ford vehicles. The $1000 hopefully will be on one of them.
BTW.... I have been told that you don't physically need the coupon, but if a coupon has been generated for you the dealer can look it up and apply it when doing the purchase. They just look up your name and address and if a coupon has been approved it will show and they apply it.
