I've seen that before on things, it's dirt on the rubber plug cover, but baked dirt, hence the colour and texture you see, i'll probably give everything a quick cleanup before installing, that should come off easily enough.

Thank you for seeing and telling me of these, good job they were chrome and not black, eh? I would not have been looking as i figured i'd just be paying the same as a set of aftermarkets, which ironically this seller went for, though the XB's are nice looking lights, hopefully i'll get to see them in person, the outer light always looked off in pictures to me.
For sure! Envious of that set, if you find a black pair for dirt cheap you know where to find me. (:
Maybe I'll have better luck with finding the HID's than I did with the grille. Think I missed the boat though.

The drain plug for the front diff? I'll just have the shop supply it, i'll get some pics and stuff up once i get it done with them this spring. The abuse the front diff gets, especially heat related right next to that toasty 5.0 i think really hurts the oil in there over time.

I did the worlds fastest investigation into what i'd need to retro the HID's after @FerdinandF150 gracefully told me about them, turns out all i need is an $85 plug n play harness and that should be it.
I don't have any plans for my factory units, they're in really good condition, i was just going to keep hold of them as i didn't have any other plans - You're not local, but if you want, maybe we could somehow arrange something for them? I think they're like $80 each new? Not sure, haven't been in the market for them

Sorry nothing has turned up for you, and absolutely, if i see some, i know someone who wants them Don't abandon all hope, *I* was the one who thought i'd totally missed the boat, then these appeared!!

I checked out the Morimoto Hybrids on the PO's Platinum, and i have to say, they're a far better light in person than i thought they were from all the pictures here on the forum - that C bar was the biggest thing that looked out of place to me, yet in person, they seemed fine, it's a good looking headlight, even on his predominantly chromed truck (they're not a chrome light) If i had the money, i think i'd be happy with those for sure.

I still can't get over the price, deal of the year. On ebay folks want $350 for 1 light with broken tabs, chipped lenses etc. Those look sharp. Let me know who you order the harness through, the folks I linked seemed most popular, but seems the harness can be bought other places.

I'm no light guru, were the seller's lights the ones with square like projectors? They do not look good online, but sometimes the internet lies.

Wow thats great they make a plug and play harness and yeah the headlights are like $80 each for after market and yeah I am sure we can work something out for them. The drain plug that you put on your oil pan I was talking about unless I looked at the wrong photo, I dont have to worry about a front diff because i dont have one lmao. They look to be in excellent condition and really cant wait to see how everything looks when its all installed

Yeah, the price was right IMO - the guy said exactly the same as you, people (likely breakers yards) selling chipped and broken tabbed units for that much, each! Crazy!

I ordered the harness through theretrofitsource.com per your link, i've used them for bulbs in the past for my Wife's car and didn't see cheaper prices elsewhere. Doesn't look like it shipped yet though, so i'm expecting possibly end of next week, now i'm getting antsy and wanting to get them in now!

The units he had are the Morimoto XB Hybrid's which are these ones:
https://www.theretrofitsource.com/09...led?quantity=1

The style, and the size of the C bar looks bad in pictures IMO, it, other than the price, is the thing that put me off from them, but frankly, having now seen them on a truck, i'd buy them if i had the money.

Oops, my bad, i got it from Amazon https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can fit the basic one too, about $5 cheaper, will just point straight down from the hole, won't take anymore space up than the one i fitted - the nipple will allow you to attach a pipe and drain straight into your 'waste oil' bottle, whatever that looks like for you, saving the intermediary drain pan step and the clean up that entails.
PM me about the lights if you want to work something out.

If you get the time, can you send photos of the wiring on the headlight? Behind the circular cap/seal? I've got my sights on a pair that don't have bulbs or ballast's and curious if the wiring is buggered and what it should look like.

Yeah, not too much to see though, i haven't looked it up, but the bulb appears held in via torx screws, having said *that*, there's not much in there in general.
Seems it's easy/cheap to get OE replacement ballasts on theretrofitsource.com
