I decided to tackle my wobbling rear view mirror tonight, having had a bent screwdriver i thought would fit, but then finding another video 'how to' which was very helpful.
I Used the red plastic trim removal tool as a brace to spread out the the pressure over a larger area of the glass, helping prevent any damage. Per the video, you really only move it a very small amount, it's a very small pin on that metal clip you can see under the mirror that sits in a shallow detent when in place (it's one piece despite showing two hooks in the pictures)
It was pretty tight so did require several gentle taps with the nylon hammer to ease it upward and off the mount.
Once off i could see the pin and detent, and could offer it up to the mount to see how far down it would need to travel to be fully engaged on the mount. I tried to do it by hand at first, including some wiggling and unplugging the wire harness, but it was very tight and only went half way. I used a little silicone grease to line the metal edges on the mount where the mirror slides over it but still required some small gentle taps with the hammer to ease it on far enough.
The last tap i heard a very small click appropriate to the pin and detent so knew it was on far enough.
You can see how far through the notch the metal glass mount is, if yours isn't this far down (towards the right in the picture) then it might be wobbling and not actually clipped on correctly. Compare the notch here with the one in the wobble video and you can see it was never far enough on the glass mount.
Needless to say i'm very happy to finally have this fixed, the mirror is now fully solid and will no longer wobble whilst i'm driving (incredibly annoying, but not as annoying as the fact i kind of got used to it!!! )
The problem, or rather, why i have the problem, was due to the truck getting a brand new windscreen fitted the week before i bought it, so this was just the installer not doing their job properly, guess it fits as they also missed a support clip at the bottom of the screen, one that is used to attach the cowling to as well - i had to trim a new clip down to fit it as the screen is technically too low on the truck body for it to be attached after the glass is in place.

Finally received my plates through, due to covid, it took over 5 months to get here, with the positive aspect that i essentially got an extra 5 months on my tags
Not much of an update, but i saw my wish-listed foglight bulbs on black friday discount along with another discount "coupon" so grabbed them for ~$12. I specifically chose this type without the lens in the end (to match the factory style bulb) so they would continue to work as focussed fog lights instead of spot lights (which is what they turn into if you get the type with the lens on the end of them)
Sorry, no pictures of the light/beam right now, i'll see if i can get one later.
I like how slim and low key those bulbs are. One thing that's kept me from LED bulbs is how they look in the housing. It took me a second to even spot those new ones. Great deal too.

Yeah, most are this style, and are NOT actually replacement bulbs for our needs - my old Ranger had caps in the housing that stopped the light passing the end of the bulb, and if you look at the halogen bulb in my picture, it's 'capped' too, if you don't have that there, they'll just be spot lights and yeah, stand out in the housing.
I ordered the following kit so i'm able to recover stuck vehicles if needed, not really sure what i'm doing as far as what's any good for occasional use though.
That's the brand of shackle I purchased. It feels sturdy and is decent quality. I should have 1 extra cushion for the D shackle and possibly the 2 washers to reduce noise. Not really necessary if you don't drive with it on though.

I imagine it would only be a couple bucks to ship them in a manila envelop if you want.
Yeah, i saw those listed, but as you say, seems to be if they're fitted when driving, which mine won't be - i was considering an extra D-ring shackle for connection options, i think. I don't have the practical use experience to know what will be enough/what i will need when connecting up to the other vehicle.
