I was really just looking for a tuner to fix my tire size/speedo calibration and add a mild tune to wake the truck up. Even the economy tune was making the shifting harsh.

Hmmmmm, did you happen to check to see if there were/are any updates before installing it and trying it out?

Diablo sport tuner - 04 lariat 4x4 . Was loving the 91 performance tune when running my little street tires. Got the tuner without any prior knowledge . A friend suggested it and found a used one for 120. Was told it'll add 15-20 horse and increase mpg . Felt like I was going to blow something up engine wise, and have yet to really figure it out. Other than the obvious preset tunes. Considering a touch screen tuner of different sort . Maybe gryphon. I'd like to have a towing tune , real time data. And easy to use/understand... I'm not really a car/truck buff. And def not a computer guy. Have 135k miles on the truck and running 35" mtns with 3:73 rear. Trying to get this thing dialed for the long haul. Got 340k miles out of my 01 SCrew on 33s. Hoping this truck will last and perform. Seems it's been one thing after another. But it's been quite educational... Sorry I'm rambling

Default SCT LiveWire TS

I use the livewire ts with 5star custom tunes.
I'm currently running a 93 performance/tow custom tune and love it!!!
I mounted it to a Edge dash pod and it looks a lot better than the sct windshield mount.

Just got a used Diablo I1000 in mail yesterday. I updated it and put on the "canned" 87 octane k&n tune. So far on my drive in to work today and around town it seems decent. Truck felt like it had a little more get up and go, also seemed like it goes higher in the revs before shifting. I like it so far and a buddy has had one on his truck for a while and has had no problems or complaints.

I purchased the unit when it first hit the market. I did the 93 tune without modifying any of the parameters and it was a night and day difference. First thing I noticed was the exhaust note changed considerably. It was pretty cool. I have since moved to SCT. It was explained to me that SCT has access to more tuning parameters and once again it was a night and day difference. The i1000 is a nice little unit, easy to navigate and update. Congrats on the upgrade .

Thanks violinguy77. I'm still using the 87 tune but on my next full up I'm going to use premium so I can run the 93. I wanted the sct but couldn't pass up on the deal I got for the Diablo.

I am lost as ever by reading this sticky. I know you guys get upset when people ask the same questions, but I assure you I read almost EVERY page of this sticky.

I have a late model 04 F150 2wd with the 4.6L. I got on 5startuning website and I did not see where he offered a tune for the 4.6. Is there a tuner out there for the 4.6L that offers custom tunes?

Again...I'm sorry, but I am tired of the lack of throttle response!

Thanks.

Hard to believe you couldn't find it on 5 Star Tuning's website, but here is what I found

Default MPT Custom Performance Tune tow/haul feature & more

Got my MPT custom tunes installed into my truck yesterday. I have the SCT X4 (2011 f150 ecoboost) AFE stage 2 intake and Flowmaster Catback Exhaust.

I went with 91 performance race & 91 performance street. (91 is the highest i can find in my area)

First off i have to say this blows the SCT canned tune out of the water. It's honestly not even close. I have only tried the performance race. But the difference is incredible! I haven't really even opened it up yet because i'm still letting my truck adapt to the tune. The biggest difference is the throttle response. there is basically no more turbo lag at all. the shifting is pretty firm and i'm still trying to get used to that just because sometimes i do like to drive conservatively and the shifts are pretty firm even at low speeds. So i may try the other tune that i purchased (91 perf street)

I do however have a few concerns. hopefully you guys can help.....

I hear that thud/bump sound under my hood on the drivers side mostly when i'm just driving it regularly at medium RPM's. After reading a bunch of post's on this same topic i think i know what it is. But it still doesn't make much sense to me. I guess it has something to do with the air trying to release out of the intake or something?? And it makes a thud or bump. So can someone explain this to me and tell me exactly what is going on? And is there anything that i can do to fix this problem?

I tried calling MPT and i will say that there customer service has been awesome. But the (un named guy) i talked to had no idea what i was talking about. And i was surprised by that because this has been such a common problem in these threads after the install of intake and tune. I also asked him what the difference was between performance race and performance street tunes and he said "well im not really sure" I guess i just need to call and talk to someone else at MPT.

Overall i'm very happy with the tune. and i'm excited to try the 91 performance street. (once i find out WTF it does )

The last thing is the Tow/Haul button that MPT performance tune turned into a performance/economy tune. I haven'y really tried it too much as i'm still trying to let my truck adapt to the tune. But do any of you guys have any more info on this subject. I guess it's just supposed to change your shift points. Is this something you should use just around town? or use on a road trip? Not really sure when i should be using this.
