ok, so im looking at the SCT X4 for a 2010 F150 , just returned home from over seas, I am looking for a tuner that has fantastic reviews , mainly for MPG improvements, i installed a K&N cold air, and soon flow master catback dual.. Im currently getting 13.5 MPG, and looking for more, IF possible.. I have read reviews on BullyDogs, and Diablos, but all reviews are 50/50, So i figured id ask the guys who drive what i drive and have the proof.. SO, what is the best plug and go tuner, ease of install, Im not looking to change gear ratio, shift , or anything, i just want something i can plug in and have it reprogram to the bolt on performance parts i have and add additional mpg if possible.

Primary purpose of a tuner is more power and torque, secondary benefit of a tuner is MPG which is also largely dependant on HOW you drive as well if that makes sense.

Drive with a heavy foot, and wont see any mpg gains from a tune.

ultimately yes im looking for more power, you can never have enough, however i dont want to go all power and lose out on the mpg,, So if the sct tuner can do all the above then thats what im looking for.. After reading allot of reviews on bullydogs, and diablos, it seems there are allot of problems with the tuners either not working as they should or frying some of the electronics etc.. I am just trying to find a product that wont do that, something PRE-Programmed where all i have to do is install it with ease and see a increase in power, and mpg .

The SCT X4 sounds like what you are looking for in that case. Easy to use, plug n play right out of the box with either of the three tunes on it for your engine. It's prob 75% of all the tuners we sell are that model.

Redneck Wrencher, I'm with you. 2013 SC Lariat went from the dealer to the exhaust shop and Dynamax cat back installed. K&N cold air charger followed and now looking for a chip. Just turned 1000 miles and it's mine to do what I please. SCT chip sounds good. Shifts way too soon out of first and don't care so much about MPG. Any input from the forum would be appreciated, thanks, Mike M.

I have '04 5.4. I originally bought Edge Evo in '07 and not real happy with it as their customer service not great, and my truck did not take well to it. I never did use it for anything other than a gauge pod. I had the VCT problem in '11 and locked out my phaser's, using lockouts from Livernois and a SCT programmer. I have since replaced all my timing componets and bought a custom mpg Tune program that I will be testing out on a trip to the beach next week. I will comment after I get back.

My truck has more power than I'd ever need, I wouldn't mind a tuner purely for mpg purposes.
