There was nothing left, engine completely gone. Can't believe someone else didn't spot it. It was on a light duty f250.

It does basically the same thing as the Gotts mod. This weekend I'm going to modify my AFE intake using the intake tube and the Banks filter housing. Here's a couple pics. The end piece bolts to the fender and the housing slips onto it.

Wow is that an oldie, seen a lot from that company in the past but never nothing that resembled the factory set up. Banks were usually square box set ups , not very impressive really from what I recall for this gen. The stepped it up just for the lightnings and gen 11 though. It's why they weren't really that commonly seen on these trucks. Back in that era it was the AFE and Volant systems that went the extra mile. That one is actually the best Banks I've seen for this gen. It's set up for more air on demand than the gotts. Not that you'll ever need that much BUT, - Perfect kit to go with a long tube header install. Max in Max out, these engines suck that right up low and high. Great find!

Is the filter housing more rigid than the factory ? Looks like it's made out of that tough composite formulation. The inside may be polished, - have to check that out ! So ahhh, Wadayuh'aunt4it?

Terrible weather today, 40 car pile up behind me, 3 fatalities. I was in and out of 4wd for about 80 miles. Windy as hell, white outs and ice. Was crazy, there would nothing, then wind with snow. I really don't think most of the semis on the road stood a chance with the way that wind would just slam yuh.

They shut the expressway later this morning in both directions and haven't opened it back up yet. Mother nature can be fierce, prayers sent for those who didn't make it.

Huh, so they are still available. Trash that filter and run a good HF nano fiber and can't do any better.

Don't think I'll be getting rid of it! I've been planning on going back to gotts mod for a while now. Today sealed the deal when I saw that lol.

It is definitely more sturdy, prob twice as thick as stock. And you are correct the inside is polished very smooth.

Yes, in a way. They are used more in the v10 motorhomes. That's what I thought he had when Drill first posted the picture. The MH's have a 90* turn to take air in from the front. Mostly only on higher dollar Class A's with Ford modular or 460 gas power. Lots of ones are used on the diesels Class A's. Banks is also quite the outfit for MH power improvements, as well as diesels upgrades to air intake and exhaust systems.

Does that housing use the factory size filter?

Brew, what's a HF nanofiber? I am assuming HF doesn't mean Harbor Freight here, LOL.

Wow! Probably the best I've ever done. I also find it funny how I searched 3 times today for that part and couldn't find it. But you found it I'm willing to bet right away lol.

Lmao I wouldn't even be shocked if harbor freight started selling air filters.
