Whitey, With a little effort, a bath, and some wheels, that should bring you a few extra dollars.

I used to turn a lot of cars. I took 2.5 years off work and only did that. I would of still be doing that but my state cracked down on how many vehicles you could sell a year without a license. They said that I had 208 cars in my name during that time. I quit. lol

I dug out the Fusion today. I put in a new battery and it fired right up. I took it to the shop to get the power steering hose replaced. My son parked it for that. He said he wasn't going ti drive it, I decided to repair it and use it as a DD this winter. I love the sunroof, lol.

Guess I need to look into my power steering. It's got a high pitched squeak at idle that goes away if I turn the wheel. I just noticed it the past week when sitting in drive thrus...

Holy crap. I got the estimate on the power steering today. $1785.00. Nah. Parts were 860, AC evac/refill were 150. plus freon. The rest was labor. Not gonna happen that way. I ordered new everything including the AC condenser/PS cooler combo and shipping, and parts were $168 from RA and 37 for a pump from eBay. $205 for $860 local pricing thru the shop. I'll fix it in the spring.

Whoa! That's why I am *truly* thankful that I can wrench on things myself.

While getting my FIL's car (an 02 RX300) ready to sell, a garage identified the upstream O2 sensors as bad, and wants $680 to replace them. Two places told my SIL "You have to use the OEM sensors. These things are finicky." While that may be true, you don't have to pay extra for the "Toyota" bag they'll come in. Denso makes the dang things for Toyota, and they're $112 each on Amazon instead of the $260+ they quoted. They also charged her $78 for the CEL "diagnosis" which AZ (or I) could gave done for free. They even included $2.50 for "shop supplies."

Eh, he says he has "... an 01 single cab that needs a new head..." so he'll probably be back for that. He also flip-flops more than a bass in the bottom of a boat, so who knows what he'll do with this one.

Doh... never spotted that bit...

Actually just gone and read all of the comments from that post, his other one is a 4.6 but he hates single cabs... lol

He might as well sell both of them and stay with the 5.3 he wants, looks like he sold his last one about a year ago...

Hey jbrew you mentioned a fuse a while back (couple different threads) that would fall apart in the engine bay. What was that fuse for?
Father in law was changing the starter on his 97 and now has zero power anywhere. Figuring it was a fuse and thought of that but couldn't remember if that fuse was related or if he will need to check his fuse boxes

Edit* went creapin in your profile and found the thread. Also funny reading your posts because you posted a lot of word association posts which were funny out of context. Anyway found it, ya the battery mega fuse... will have him check that one too. Although if the fuse is in good shape and the rest of it is bad I doubt he'll diagnose it. The truck will probably sit until I get into town on the 21st lol unless it's a simple fuse.

Could be, easiest way to check is with a jumper or just bolt the cable ends together, temporarily by -passing the fuse.

Word association gets fun when everyone is on a roll, until someone throws up a stopper. Starts all over again lol.
