Well, at least the price was right, and as AK says, you can have assembly and pull going on at the same time.

Hope everyone had a good holiday, and (maybe?) day off today. I tried to get caught up on some work today, but motivation has been lacking. Delayed tryptophan effects, maybe?

The core we got was for a 4WD, and mine is a 2WD (not a direct swap - the case is different). He just called and said he just got it out, but hasn't got into it yet. He said the SOB that installed it from his last shop (the guy actually lives across the street from my Buddy too) only put 3 converter bolts in it. He's pretty pissed off about that. He hasn't got into it yet, but told me that everything he has looked at looks fine. He stopped for a bit because he had a 4R100 come in the door that he needs to finish first. Hopefully I will know tonight what the hell is binding it up. The suspense is killing me, lol.

He has a new guy that pulled it for him. A guy I have actually seen do wok elsewhere, and he's thorough as hell, so I feel really good about it. My Buddy claims it will be done tomorrow..... but I am 200 miles from home until Sunday for my FIL's funeral. Might leave tomorrow after the funeral, but we are supposed to have one hell of a snow storm tomorrow. I put new tires on the little car just for this trip.

Any of you run Douglas tires? I got Douglas All Season's for it - they are USA Made. Figured, what the hell, I'll give them a shot.

LOL.... good luck JP. You've got a lot more daylight than we do. The sun is just starting to peek over the mountain.

That reminds me of the time I borrowed my friend's early-80's 4WD Toyota pickup, and got stuck in the mud. 4WD didn't help at all..... until he told me they were manual hubs.

Hope you get un-stuck JP.

Good morning, all. A beautiful, sunny, cold (8 degrees) morning here in the mountains. Hope you all have a great week!

Well I got it out with a little help from a Chevy Trailboss. I actually kind of liked it. Lol

Bear, our mills around here are starting to panic a little bit too. The loggers just can't cut any wood when the machinery can't stand up.

I made it worse before I made it better though. Lol

Just a little mud lol

Anyway driving back from in-laws last night. Stopped to get gas and when started up, the escapes mystery noise was super loud until I started to move and gave it a little gas. Later hopped off the interstate to get food, sitting at a light turning back onto the interstate, rpms dropped and thought the escape was gunna die, twice. Then I get a call today my wife got to work and said something smelled like it was burning. Didn't describe what kind of burning but a coworker walking by could smell it too... so yippee for me. Told her to just keep an eye when driving home and if anything looked funky to pull over and get out.
Ran to harbor freight to pick up a stethoscope. Going to pin point this mystery noise. I'm thinking either water pump related or power steering (it just started acting up and I had to top it off about 2 weeks ago). Fingers crossed it's something simple and that somehow the burning smell is related and fixed along side that. Who knows lol but truly can't complain cz it's been problem free for the last 80xxx miles it was bound to catch up
