I wonder if someone makes casters that swivel, but can be fixed in position (at 90 degree points, maybe) when needed. That would be a nice retrofit.

I haven't seen those. I pretty much converted all stuff on casters to 4 wheel brakes. You could probably fox them yourself with a couple self tappers. But that would be more permanent. But where there's a will there's a way. Hasen't become that much of a PITA...only half the time lol. I have a lot of stuff that rolls around on casters. One of my trash cans even grew wheels lol.

Now if they where all remote control, I could really get lazy.

Brew, you must he rubbing off on me. Plugged in the floor steamer, waited, and nothing. Yep, it's plugged in, yep the outlet has power, what the... hit the switch on the thing and the light comes on. Crap.

They do make them, but not worth the $55 apiece price tag

Yeah..... I'd be into casters more than I paid for the whole hoist, lol.
