Thinking
Ohio.... that LX reminds me a lot of my 86 GT. If I had an interior pic, I could guess better, but I know it's an 87-90 you've got there. 87 and 88 are identical, 89 has the pony on the dash, and the armrest in the center console..... 90 has the pony on the dash and no armrest, and 91 the 10 hole rims left and were replaced with the pony rims like I have.
I wish I had pics of it before it was totalled. It had a full repaint, a Cobra grille insert grafted on, a Cervinis SVO style hood, and a GT spoiler. (The fog lights were also removed.) Four months after all the work was done, a lady in a Buick stopped short in front of me while I'd glanced over my shoulder preparing for a lane change. The frame got tweaked so I decided to let it go.
What a sexy car. Them 87 & 88's were some good runners.... something about those speed density cars. My 86, also speed density, had the old "turbo swirl" factory heads. It was an original AOD car that I put a T5 in. It had the optional 3.27 rear, and that car was a screamer for what it was. I remember racing a Chevelle with a 396 on State Street one night, and kicking the **** out of it. At the next light I asked him if it was really a 305, LOL.... he wasn't amused. I never ran it, but I beat my Buddy's 72 Chevy truck right after he ran a 15.02 at the track. I always felt it was a 14.7 - 14.9 second car, which translates to a 13.7 - 13.9 car at sea level.
I've never ran my 89 either, lol..... but it is a lot faster than my 86 was. I'd be bummed if it didn't crack into a really low 14 range. I probably ought to run it this September because the track is closing at the end of this season. The masses will be petitioning Utah Motorsports Campus after Rocky Mountain Raceways closes, I'm sure. They do some pretty cool stuff there, but no drag racing.

Love the Fox fastbacks. I had 2 myself. An 85 GT and a 79 Turbo. Damn that turbo with 390 gears and 4 speed was hot off the line. I raced so many Chev's and other Mustangs and whipped most of them. One freaky Gremlin was tearing up everything in town. Little sob had a 401 built in it. Nothing would beat that thing off the line. Even the Mopars that raise up when taking off, couldn't touch that thing. They called it the Frog. It jumped alright. LOL I'm not a fan of the notchbacks though.
I bought my daughter an 80 fastback with the 6 in it. She drove the wheels off it. I later gave her the 85 GT. To this day, she says that GT was/is her favorite car of all. She's owned a Rogue, a Ridgeline, an RX350 Lexus and an A4 Audi.
Whitey, she cleaned up quite nicely. I can see why you'd want to stack it in a meet. She's still got her beauty, and she's becoming more and more rare, with all the modded Mustangs out there. I'm glad you've kept her basically original. Good job.
Ohio.....nice looking car. Gotta love the Fox bodies, even the Fairmont's on the Fox platform, but only in the Futura fastback, with the 302. I have my eye on a Fairmont I've been seeing on my trips to Fairbanks. It's just sitting in a lot of other old cars and trucks. It could be a nice sleeper with a 347 stuffed into it. Hmmm. Damn, now I'm thinking again about another rig. Just what I don't need.

This is very close to the one up the highway that I am looking at. It has the 200 6 in it, but being a Fox platform the SBF will go right in there without any kind of problems. I really like the fastback version of this ride. It even has 3 of these wheels still on it. lol PFA
Last night, I was able to pick up a 06 Mustang GT 4.6 long block. Aluminum block, so it doesn't weight so damn much, like the stock modulars. It's going to the valley this weekend to my buddies shop, so I can rip it down and see what was wrong with it. Guy said it smoked like hell, with 103k on it. I'm sure he rodded the hell out of it, but still, it is a block I've wanted to build up and play with. now's my chance. LOL Not bad for $250. Now I can use the newer heads build from there.

My buddy who told me about it, say it is for sale. The 6 is not running, but the body is clean he said. The interior is messed up on the front seat, but all the glass and stuff was there and still good. I'm going to Fairbanks this coming week, and I'm going to stop by and see if I can make a deal. He said she wanted $1000 when he asked about it, but he's F150 poor, he has about 18 or 19 of them. Mostly he has Dentsides, and a few of the 67-72s. He has 3 Mustangs (1st gen), a couple Ford vans, and about 8 other odd *****, so this would just rust away in his weeds. All this on about 3/4 of an acre. It's getting tight up there. LOL His real odd one is a 57 Neapco Ford F100 4x4. All body tags and a clean body. Someone put in a 390 in place of the 312, but we found him a good running 312, from a 58 Custom, so he's good to go, once that gets swapping back in. The 390 runs great, but to keep the truck original, the 312 is going back in. Then it is worth quite a few dollars.

It's the 4x4 conversion put on by Neapco for Ford and GM before 61 when they used their own 4x4 systems. The Ford's are rare, as Napco normally did the GM. Marmon Harrington did most of the Ford's, until Ford got smart and did their own. Looks like this, but he has different wheels on his. NAPCO, not Neapco. I always do that, considering the Ujoints are Neapco. LOL
