I blew my 2 capacitors in my little Zapco Z100 (100W, LOL) and these disintegrated the board beneath them. Made an attempt at repairing the board, but popped both new caps I put in it as soon as it kicked on. Soooo, I went over and bought a "1000W" Pioneer. It's about the same amount of power as the 100W Zapco. Really surprised I killed that little guy, and even more surprised that the fuse didn't pop.

Anyway, here's the new one....

Got a few things checked off my list today

- Replaced the blend door in the F150
- Discovered it actually WAS low on refrigerant, so I charged it
- Repaired the old amp in my car - however, something made the new Caps pop too
- Bought and installed the Pioneer above
- Installed the new USB Bluetooth Pioneer deck in the Mustang
- Installed a 4TB HDD in my "download PC"
- Did some touch up paint on the Stang

Now it's time to relax with the fam.

Sounds like you had a hell of a day yesterday, 2100! I bet you spent today resting, I know I would anyway...

Here's the blend door in action...

Hey, did these trucks come with aluminum heater cores? This thing looks pretty good for its age.

Yeah Whitey, we have aluminum cores in the GEN 10's. Glad you got the damn thing fixed.

I pulled the axles yesterday on lil Red and both rear seals were torn on the bottom edge. I put in new seals, fluid and additive. No leaks now. I checked the gears and pin, and everything seems to be in great shape. I still have the front shocks and sway bar links to add, but other than that, it's drive Red. I'm going to do the chains, but that takes effort, and I'm low on effort right now. ROFL

Bear.....if a person was young enough, had a few extra dollars and space to store things, I could surely see this being a viable resource. If I liked in the midwest somewhere, that would be an ideal place to set up. All it's takes is money and time. Damn, leaves me out. lol

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Memorial Day guys and gals.

My Expy leaks more than wiki does. I think I found some truck bearings and seals for an 8.8 truck in my stash. Damn part number is worn off the bag though, so I need to find my others for the F150 and compare, LOL.

I'm thinking about doing a part time job. Maybe over at O'Reilly, Autozone, or NAPA. I'd prefer NAPA, but you know... wonder how well they pay? I've got a guy over at NAPA that I know pretty well, and I think I could talk to him. They close earlier too, and I like that.

White....I thought you were going to help your buddy at his transmission shop. You would be miles ahead of most anyone there in knowledge of the Fords in a parts store.

I got so pissed off yesterday at Autozone. They have a new young manager, and he is a total ***. I came in and the first thing out of his mouth was a monotone "what you want bud". Not what you need or can I help you. Not a good way to start a transaction. Anyways I gave his the part numbers I wanted. He looked at me and said, "what year make and model you got". I told him I wanted those numbers and that he had them in stock. I checked last night. He then asked "did one of the guys give you those numbers". I told him I called in the numbers. Then he wanted to look them up anyways.

I gave him the info, and when he looked, he saw the same part numbers. He huffed away and went and got them. He was being a total *** and I was holding my temper. Not something I do well, but I was maintaining. Barely. Anyways, they more I thought of the treatment I got, plus he didn't want to give me the 10% that I always got. He said "I give it to you this time, but no more". Once I paid for it, he made some off the cuff comment about people trying to be parts men. I turned around and looked right at him, and told him straight out that he'd never be a partsman. Maybe a parts puller, but never a partsman. He flipped me off. I contacted corporate right after that. Waiting on their response. I told them that I wouldn't go back to any of their stores until this guy was removed. I also blasted them on my local FB page. I got a lot of morning responses that others had the same problem with the new manager. I suggested that others contact AZ Corporate and tell their story also. Time to get rid of this idiot, so shopping at OR. I do hate OR pricing though.

Too bad I wasn't wearing my recorder sun glasses. Damn, hindsight.

He's going to be a ways out before he's ready for me I have been around these businesses long enough now to tell. I have a gut feeling that I need to make something happen on my own

Although I have thought about advertising locally to do stuff from my house Brakes and such. Preferably Ford's only. Ford has their way of doing things that I just understand better, lol.

Good job on not clocking the AZ guy. The AZ where I used to live had a guy like that. Total d-bag. After I corrected some information he was giving a customer about 3V spark plugs, he started calling me Boss. Not sure if that was a dick move or a sign of respect.

Alright guys ac question.... temp controls work, fan speed work, but defroster/ac/Max ac, etc don't work.... all settings just blow out the defrost vents and feet. Off works but everything else is just on. Do I have a vent hose disconnected or something else?

03 escape

Lol, - if in question, you may have said, -well what do you know, you got something right....there's a sliver of hope for you. In a pleasant way of course.

Personally and either way, I would of took it as a token of respect. But hey, I wasen't there lol.

That is interesting. I've heard of the opposite happening ... it is vacuum controlled and the default is to come out of the defrost vents. It sounds to me like you've got a bad switch or a stuck valve. I have seen the valve before but I don't recall how I saw it. I think it was behind the radio.. I have a manual at home that I can email you if I didn't already.
