That coating was the main reason I went with the NAPA Eclipse calipers. The calipers I got with the assembly look fairly new, but they are uncoated. The pads and rotors are new, not even any wear that I can see. I need to get the surface rust off the rotors though, probably need to get me a new wire wheel. I'll get new pads though.
Back and forth ? Folks must think your a spazz with them going off like that. .. Nah, hope they straighten out, well, you know what I mean lol.

Yea, mine are rusted up as well. Thick on the drivers side, - I had to remove them to install the diff, they locked up sitting with the wheels off and after a rain. I have some 3M stuff I might use to cut the rust, but most definitely run the palm sander over them. Scores the surface perfectly. But if it's not heavy on yours, it might come off with acetone, or a penetrate. Like PB Blaster or that stinky stuff in the orange can lol.

LOL... I have a couple cans o' Kroil. That's a good idea. Plus I just bought some new pads for the palm sander. Might give that a shot. Thanks for the tip!

I do need to find backing plates still.... glad we had this convo.

Funny, I didn't think of using penetrant this time until you brought it up, but I have before. Well, brought up the rust anyway... So yea, thank you lol.

Whitey......I asked her for you,, and she said, "Hmmm, I don't know that".

So I asked how to replace them and this times she said, "Sorry, I not sure".

I asked her another Mustang brake question, and Wilson Pickett came on with Mustang Sally.

I figure with that response, she could ask some of the questions floating around on here right now. She would make as much sense as some of them.
