Kinda pisses me off because it was recommended to me by 3 separate people, AND the guy at Home Depot.

Speaking of a forum of gimps (aka walking wounded)...... I am pissed off to the max about the A/C on my truck. Went to use it on Sunday, and the SOB is low on refrigerant. I just had it all replaced in July of 2016.... paid Big O to do it because I was just coming off of the back surgery, and had another pending surgery which would have put it out even further. Being July in Utah, I said screw it, and paid them to do it.

I hate having to go back and re-do someone else's work. I swear every damn time I have someone else work on my vehicle - it never lasts. I always wind up having to go back through and fix it.

Obviously it's got a leak somewhere. Are all dye kits created equal? I need to figure out where it is leaking. It has just enough refrigerant in it to cycle the pump for about 2 seconds then it shuts back off for 10 to 15 seconds, so to me - that says it is just low.

Soda, glass beads or walnut shells for aluminum. Even plastic bead is good. I think they are still using walnut shells in the aviation industry lol. Are you using a spot blaster, (really like those little guys lol) or do you have a tank ?

I am going to run this one and see how it does. I've had it for like 3 or 4 years, and this will be the first time I've used it. I've seen these run off smaller tanked and less HP compressors than I have, and they did fine.

I've seen them as well, in fact a guy on this site was using one to blast the underside of his cab. Think it's in the rocker panel repair thread. Video of it.

Guess I should of mentioned, there is a way to safely use sand, don't even need a a mask. You have to use a water injection set up. But not many DIY'ers have or built one. They are nice, but with all the safer media out there and for the fact, you can use that same media more than once (dry), it's not a common set up. The guys that use water injection have portable blasting set ups. They can come out and blast a entire vehicle in a few hours lol. Sort of like pressure washing a deck.

You can work a smaller compressor to death...blasting with one is just one way to wear it out. Hell, your just doing rims. You'll have to judge compressor time if it isn't a two stage or most of all if it's one of those oil less specials. Very short life spans, if you actually work them. Also, if your oil less and only single stage, you'll have to filter moisture. Perhaps a lot of it, that's not a problem with a well oiled two stage..huge difference between the two. Blast one rim and let it cool... if you can stand it lol. You'll most likley need a water separator, perhaps two (unless you have a desiccant or dryer set up) ,even in the best blasting weather. Keep your lead hose short as possible.. Moisture problems, they will come quick...blaster will plug up on yuh. Bead blasting, you can go a little longer between plug ups. Blasters need clean dry air, just like a paint gun and plasma cutter. Anyway lol, -Good luck white!

Damn, had my daughter check the trailer. It's 80* today, she informed me the trailer is 96* inside ? Dang thing went from ice box to oven ROFL. Well, guess I better rip that reflectix off the windows and open them up lol. Wasn't expecting that, weird.

I'll get to try out the AC this weekend, can't remember if it has 2 AC's or 1. They haven't been tested. I bought the thing last fall, never got around to it. Yea , I think it has an AC over the bedroom, then another over the kitchen. I'll see what new problems the summer brings I expect.

I have a 4hp 13 gallon Campbell Hausfeld. Pretty good compressor.... keeps up great with everything but my Earthquake impact. It is an air hog and I only get 2 wheels off before it kicks the compressor back on. But the Dewalt has assumed that duty now.... lmao.

Man I hope your air conditioning doesn't give you a problem.
