Honestly, I was going to try and help that guy a little more, he went off the deeper end though.

That's was too bad, you know what usually causes 3 in a row like that....a severe 12 volt short. Like say arcing the battery in the engine compartment. It why you disconnect the battery before doing anything on these. The solid state switches inside the PCM are vulnerable. When it happens you take out 3 or 4 coils. It's an easy confirm with a test light or noid. You just connect to the connector, crank the engine and watch the light. No blinky means you lost the low volt signal. Losing that in a batch, = the SS switches are toast.

No fix for a shorted PCM like that though, you need a new one for sure. You don't lose drivers, you loose the switch signal. The drivers can't get through the gates, gates closed and locked forever...literally.

It would of been easy to determine, hell, I just wanted him to get the cylinders correct and stop shouting lol.

Nah, it was the 246 fella. He was misfiring on 246. At least that's what he said. He was very confused. We were sort of trying to straiten him out, but he took offense, acted as though we were attacking him. Attempted to teach us a lesson. It backfired.

Hey... just an off the wall question here. But would I be OK reusing an exhaust manifold? Seems that everyone just replaces the whole kit and kaboodle. It doesn't appear to be cracked anywhere... just have a couple bolts that snapped off in the head of the Expy. Just wondering if I just did the bolts and gaskets if that'd be OK? I'm not really a big fan of Dorman stuff.

(I realize this is probably a case by case thing, but just wondering if any of you have tried re-using the old manifold)

EDIT: Does putting a crease in the side of the Expedition doing some off-roading count for the TOTM thread? LOL
I got my Wife mad that I put it into a tree off road on Monday night. I got the Expy one way, and it didn't want to go back out that way, so..... I used a different route which had a tree, and you probably can guess the rest. It's not really bad, but noticeable.

If it's not cracked or leaking you might be OK as long as the integrity of it hasn't been compromised. So far the Dorman has done well for me through 6 months of heat. Will have to see how the winter treats me.

Yea, just check for warpage, like from a plugged up cat. It's how they warp. Definitely replace the trans mount....that's how the bolts break in the first place. The mounts bushing material disintegrates, trans drops about 3/4" and pulls the exhaust down with it.

I'm pretty sure my Buddy put a brand new mount in with the new trans.... about 1000 miles ago. But I will double check, thanks for the reminder!

I do actually have a mount I got the the One-Fiddy.... I assume the Expy uses the same mount (both are 4R70W's).
