White....thanks for the picture. I'm not much on the vinyl roofs on the sportsroofs. So so on the green. My choice is the dark blue or the black without the vinyl. That is my next purchase with any luck.

My picture of my 70 is really crappy. It will give you an idea of what I was driving in 76. I used my photo editors and this is the very best I can make it. The water ruined most of my pics of everything.

351 4V Cleveland. 4 speed top loader, and 3.90 rear gears. It wasn't near as fast as my 71 Torino with the same engine/trans package with 3.73's. The best the Mustang ran in the 1/4 was 13.90's. My Torino, stock, first pass was 13.80 and got down to a 13.22 with just tractions bars and better tires. That damn Torino was a one of a kind. It was fast in his day. It was over a second faster than what stock 1/4 times Ford projected. I wish I still had it, but it would probably be a rust bucket by now. Those were the old salt on the roads days.

One day I was driving from Valdez to Anchorage, 304 miles, and got on a long stretch outside GlenAllen, and decided to see how fast it would go without kicking open the 4V. It went to 117 and sat there. I pushed the pedal and the damn car jumped and took off. When the 4V kicked in, the speedometer (120) hit the bottom of the scale, popped back and never worked again on that drive. I got home, pulled the cable, it looked like it was tangled spaghetti in the casing. That Torino, was probably the most fun I had with a straight line car ever (I've had 5 70-71 Torinos total but this one was special). I have more fun with my 07 Mustang now though. I love doing mountain drives, and with the suspension and upgrades, she handles it like it was second nature. Maybe that is why I like going to Fairbanks lately. Could also be the woman, but the drive is quite a bit of fun in the mountains. I love to let it hang out and I enjoy the drive that way.

Wow... sounds like a fun car. I like Torino's, but they are down on my "want list". My second choice behind a Stang is a Maverick. Man oh man do I love them cars.....

My Buddy's Dad had a Torino... about a 75 that was root beer brown. It wasn't all that peppy, as I believe it had a 302. But man was that a nice car. He was an audiophile, and that was the first car I was ever in that had a REALLY good stereo system. We used to crank Iron Maiden, Metallica, Motley Crue..... all the good old stuff in that thing. It definitely made an influence on me. I've always had a decent stereo in everything I own.

Whitey....I had 2 Mavericks I ran on the track and used as DD's. The first a 74 with buckets (no console) AT and 302. Damn thing wouldn't crack the 13 second barrier. The best it did was 14.28. I switch the next year to a 75 and made some mod's. It broke the 13's with ease, but wouldn't get better than 13.70's. I switch to a 75 Comet GT.

We had a 65 Mustang 271/289 engine, so it went into the Comet. It was hell to change out, as the 65 had the different bell housing for the block. I found one and we installed it. Wow. We were in the very low 13's with that motor. The problems with running a Mav/Comet is the power steering system. It is under the car as a push cylinder, and the use of headers is really hard to compensate for at that time. They've since made modifications to the ram and added a special end, so that it could be used with the Hooker's we were using. Back in 75, it was build your own design if you wanted to race them. Being 1975, in Alaska, we didn't have all the access that you folks had. We made do. lol

This damn inspector that did the inspection on the home I am selling put in there that I needed to upgrade to AFCI breakers on my house. Say what? That panel was replaced in 2001. AFCI was not required until 2014.

I'm about to go ballistic.

Those inspectors can be slimeballs. When I was buying my home they appraised it lower than the asking price on accident. I ended up getting about 5k off the price of the house. It worked out in my favor, but it still didn't feel right knowing they were ripping off the previous owners because they didn't want to fess up to their mistake.

My inspector missed so much crap it's infuriating.... that's what you get being a first time home buyer and not getting your old mans opinion

The thing that infuriates me is their inspector did not tell them that this modification IS NOT NECESSARY. Just because he recommended it, they think I need to fix it. These people, including their realtor, have no idea what it is, means, does, blah blah blah. I would bet that over 95% of homes in the US don't have AFCI breakers.

Soooo.... I'm kind of in limbo here. I don't know what to do..... but I know I'm not converting it to sell it.

On the flip side, the inspector on the home I am buying.... he went through and gave me the "needs fixed" list, and the recommendation list. He gave me a binder with pics, and things he recommends for maintenance, etc. He ran the heater, A/C, and tested the incoming vs. outgoing temps to test efficiency, etc. Really, really well done. He is a friend of my cousin, so he came highly recommended (my cousin is also my agent).
