White....I used them once on a 1970 Mach 1. It was about $60 a month, $700 a year, to cover it at 13,500. I haven't used them since 2007. Not bad for a 45+ year old car. I should of never sold that rig. My biggest mistake, was selling a 63 1/2 Galaxie 500XL with 427 and factory 4speed. It was a transplanted engine, and it replaced the 406 (4V) which had grown tired. I took that car from a mess to something quite beautiful. I sold it when my son was born.

I just did their online estimator... About 380 per year to insure it at 10 grand. Not bad at all.

I figured AK probably used them before.... but for a 70 Mach 1? Sweet ****, I need pics of that car! 70 is my favorite year (Fastbacks only)

I've got one Polaroid that did get destroyed in the waterline break. I'll try and find the one I do have and the early, before finish on the Galaxie. I lost years of photos of my Maverick's, Comets, Fairlanes, Mustangs, XL's and Torinos . I've been a Ford guys since I learned to drive at 13 in a 54 Ford Custom, 3 on the tree.

My first truck was a new 75 F100 lb, 360 4 spd. I put a new Western snow plow on it and paid for it in the first year of ownership. I drag raced a Mav (2), Comet, Mustang (2) and Torino. I autocrossed my 79 Mustang 4cyl T, got hit head on in my 67 GTA fb, and walked away. I had my 71 429 (not SC) Mustang fb t-boned in 76. I also had my grad gift totaled. My mom's boyfriend bought me a new lime green with black vinyl roofed 69 Dodge Dart 340 Swinger. I had it 3 freaking weeks (1800 miles), before a drunk push the right side almost to the center console. That hurt so much more that the glancing head on I had in the 67. Luckily those were the last accidents I've had. Worse part, none were my fault, but I paid the price on all of them.

There is one Ford I wanted but never got. 1972 or 73 (prefer 72) Torino 429 Sport. I did have a 73 Ranchero, as well as a 71. I had a 72 lined up until his wife passed away, so he decided not to sell it. He kid got it about 10 years later when he passed. There is one for sale in Fairbanks. Spotless, frame of resto, 429, 4 spd, all options but the tape deck, but he wants $49,900 for it and is fairly firm. That's more than I want to pay, but it is solid and like showroom. Even my Credit Union said they would finance it if I wanted to buy it with $4000 down. White talking about Haggarty Ins brought this back to the forefront of my mind. Damn, now I thinking again about buying it. White.....

Dang,AK- you sound like my dad!- he did mechanic jobs on the side all his life- he loved his rancheros- he would buy totals and rebuild them- he had a 66 falcon ranchero that was a roll over, a 69 gt that he bought in dec. of 68- that was a t bone- he traded that in on a new 70 f-100 ranger- he had a 72 gt, that went over a culvert and kinked the frame, the 73 gt went hard in a ditch and pulled the motor mount out of the block!-the 58 belonged to a friend of his- it had a bad motor, it ended up with a 390 in it, the 70 squire he bought and we rebuilt the transmission- ( i thought he was a genius) so i guess i got the mechanical gene honest-
And at 80yrs old he still tinkers around when the mood hits him!

My grandfather used to restore classics and sell them. That's where I got my mustang. Sadly he is not doing well enough to work on cars any longer. I'd love to get the Stang back up and running but she needs a new cam shaft and a couple other parts. Has a 74 Maverick (302) engine bored .40 over with a half race cam.

Was a fun car to drive. Sadly I got married or she'd have been running years ago.
