i think its pretty much standard now, I know all fords have it
Ford also has something called post collision braking where after a significant impact it applies the brakes automatically

My friend has a 2019 Tundra with auto-braking. It applied the brakes on him going down the freeway when it thought a semi was veering into his lane. Damn near caused him to get rear-ended. He tried to get Toyota to disable it, but they could not due to liabilities. He hates it...

Schitt happens quickly, Brew, and I'd rather have those safety features available* than not. My Acura lacks the radar cruise and auto braking, but does give a "brake" warning. The auto lane-keeping function is so-so, and I use it only occasionally. The car is a 2016,though. Vast improvements have been made since.
My parents are both in their eighties, and their reaction times and ability to deal with multiple sensory inputs aren't quite what they used to be. The new SUV they're picking up today has all the "bells and whistles including HUD. It's got everything short of a driver for the thing, and I'm more than glad it does.
That said, for a decent driver paying attention and storing their phone in the console, it's probably more a case of "better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."
EDIT : *Keyword: Available. I'd like the ability to choose when to use it and when not.

Smarter than most Racoons
That is the one I'm required by work to have and they provide a (large enough) stipend for payment, insurance, etc. and a fuel card to use it for work travel to customer sites.
As it is technically mine, I can use it as I see fit otherwise.

I dont want any of that garbage, so I simply won't buy a new car. Its great that they can allegedly save geezers and texters from themselves, but let them spec it for themselves, and let me spec mine my way.
