We know that these trucks have an issue with water getting into the rad support, then rotting it out. Do we know where the entry point is for the water?

Best you do for that is undercoat it properly. They have some pretty good products for that now.
Keep in mind, Ford doesn't undercoat. They come from the factory with a coat of rust on much of the undercarriage.
