Small Form Pluggable (SFP). It's a fiber connection.

It has one of those being used right now, as it's actually being used as an EPL (ethernet private line) at the moment.

You can also buy modules for it and use copper. I'll see if I have any laying around here in my office and get a pic.

Found one. This one in particular is for a Dell switch. The thing about these modules is they aren't always cross compatible.

Speaking of copper... this is what I found going into my A/C Unit. There was enough slack I could've trimmed this out and reconnected it. However, this is just indoor old school two wire thermostat crap. I used 18-4 sprinkler wire.

Neat stuff...and at least you found another use for sprinkler wire. If it was left over stuff anyway.

Yes, it was indeed used for sprinkler wire. I was looking for my outdoor CAT 6, but when I saw that, I figured it'd be probably better in this application.
