Finally took a minute to get the "flat head" side of the tool box done. It felt like spring today... and it's supposed to be in the upper 40's the next couple days. Time to get a couple things hammered out!
As my Grandson would put it...Snap! Those are screwdrivers...BET!
Wow, haven't seen a shop quite as dedicated to that task.. I like it!
I could swear alignments use to be around 60 bucks not long ago...free if you purchased the tires from the same shop.
Yeah, they know their ****. The only place I trusted to do my Mustang to the custom specs I wanted and who, when I mentioned it was lowered with C/C plates, didn't hmmm and haww at all. Alignment on the truck was $86. The Pitman arm install was pricey, though.
I went to go get some ice out of the fridge last night. The damn keypad was turned off... and it wasn't cooling. If you recall, I just replaced the main board on it 5 weeks ago. I pulled the back panel back off, and see something black laying in the bottom of it. If you know, you know....
I can't decide if this thing was burnt, or just gave way - then got hot. The piece that came off does not appear to have been hot. But this makes me wonder.....
I bought a 3 year extended warranty through Asurion, When I contacted them, they said to contact Amazon since it had only been 5 weeks. Amazon is sending out a new board.... and said I can keep this one, I think I'll pull the caps out of it, and fix the original board tonight. Then just go from there.
Most Ford dealers have a decent alignment man
I did them at EKF in Layton for 11 years and Henry Day in West Valley for 11 more
I got my Master cert in 1998 and they had switched to the Utah Auto Collection, I took my new NGS and bailed to start my own shop
After a while, you can't help but to get good at it
Alignments are a specialty, not all dealers have qualified personnel, especially in Southern Utah
I go to an independent shop around here now for the alignments I need
I started out at Firestone in 1979 (the "set the toe and let er go" capitol of the alignment world)
Very few alignments left that place correct
I'd take my car to a Wendy's for an.alignment before I ever go back to my local Ford dealer. They did a bad alignment on my brand new Mustang, so I went back to have it fixed. They actually made it worse the second time. They handed me a report showing they moved a dimension further out of spec and took it down off the rack.
That has to be some kind of world record for incompetence.
